💕 There's my boy!
We lost Jack nine years ago today, May 7th 2017.
I've had a real rough time lately. You would think this gets easier, but it just doesn't.
However, today I choose to celebrate a big win with you. We have been working with the hospital for a long time now to put together ChemoCare Kits. If you swipe through the pictures you'll see what looks like a tool box - but inside it's got everything pediatric oncology families need when they go home to take care of their child. Pill containers, pill crushers, gloves, syringes, compartments to keep various meds in, instruction cards and a lock - to keep everything safe.
When we were able to take Jack home we had all these items in a brown paper bag. It was hard to keep track of everything and I was super stressed to begin with because it was me and Andrew trying to figure everything out alone - at the hospital you have a whole team of doctors and nurses and Child Life helping you. The ChemoCare Kit takes another thing off the plate of families and helps bring a bit of comfort in a confusing and stressful time.
