💙 November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Take a deep breath this November and take a step toward protecting your health.

Lung cancer screening can help find lung cancer earlier, when treatment may have a better chance of working.

The Ontario Lung Screening Program (OLSP) offers screening for people at high risk of developing lung cancer.

You may be eligible if you:
- Are between 55 and 80 years old
- Have smoked commercial to***co (ci******es, ci**rs, pipes) daily for at least 20 years (the years do not need to be consecutive)

If you meet these criteria, you can contact an Ontario Lung Screening Program location directly (1-866-338-1778 ext 34449) or speak with your doctor or nurse practitioner about a referral. A screening navigator will assess your risk to determine whether you qualify for screening.

📍 Lung screening is now available at Lakeridge Health, Ross Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, and coming soon to Campbellford Memorial Hospital!

There’s so much Halloween fun happening at HHHS! 🎃

Staff got creative with their costumes, bringing plenty of fun and personality to the workplace!

Our Long Term Care team has put together a Haunted House for residents to enjoy, complete with fun games like pumpkin toss and festive Halloween displays!

🔔 A reminder to all our trick-or-treaters! Stop by Highland Wood and Hyland Crest on Saturday, October 31, from 5:30 PM to 8 PM for a special Halloween treat!

Join us for the next Compassionate Hearts gathering on November 19!

Our next Compassionate Hearts gathering will explore our relationship with grief.

Using simple, sometimes unexpected art materials, we’ll explore grief in our own ways, making space for reflection, expression, connection, and perhaps even moments of joy.

Facilitated by Fay Wilkinson and Brian Nichols, this gathering is open to anyone living with or beyond cancer, as well as those caring for someone with cancer. No art experience is needed, just come as you are.

📍 West Guilford Community Centre, 1061 Kennisis Lake Road

This gathering is offered free of charge. Please RSVP so we can prepare enough art-making supplies.
