We have put together a simple guide on our blog to help you prepare for the municipal election.

It covers how to vote, the decisions and services that municipal governments and for responsible for, why your vote matters, and includes a pre-written letter you can send to local candidates asking for support for gender-based violence services in our community.

Check it out here: https://artemishuron.ca/your-vote-your-community/

You may be one of those people who thinks, "I don't care about politics."

But if you care about affordable housing, safe communities, recreation, local services, or your neighbours - you care about politics.

All of these things are impacted by decisions made by your municipal government.

Make sure you have your say in this municipal election. For Huron County, online and telephone voting are open now until October 26! 🗳

With the municipal election fast approaching, you may see local candidates out and about or want to attend all candidates meetings. Here are some key questions to keep in your back pocket to ask about their position on important community issues. Note: For many of the all candidates meetings, you need to submit questions in advance.

And make sure you're ready to vote! Voting can be done online or over the phone. Each municipality has their own information/website and you will receive a PIN in the mail. You can contact your local municipal office for assistance, if needed.

Make your voice heard on October 26 - every vote truly counts! 🗳

In 2024, a Cornell student, publicly known as Jane Doe, reported being drugged and sexually assaulted by seven fraternity members at a Cornell fraternity house. She bravely reported what happened to campus police, but none of the men were criminally charged.

Now, two years later, Jane Doe is suing Cornell University and the seven men. Her story is receiving widespread public attention (mainly thanks to student journalists), and the criminal investigation has been reopened.

We stand with Jane Doe. She should not have had to work this hard to be heard. ❤

Sexual violence is unfortunately common in post-secondary environments. For every case that makes headlines, there are countless others that never do.

Whether your story is public, was not believed, or has never been told to anyone, we are with you.

If you are in need of support, call us anytime at 1 (800) 265-5506.
