A special shout out this Coaches week to our club’s dryland trainer- Andrea!

My name is Andrea Longman and I'll be leading the dryland for the intermediate and senior swimmers this year. I've been a group fitness instructor for twenty years. I'm excited to watch the swimmers build strength, power and confidence throughout the season. I love watching the swimmers compete in swim meets. Their determination and drive makes me want to build the best program for them to achieve their goals.

And last but not least of our swim coaches- when he’s not training himself he’s on deck coaching. Three cheers for Coach Kaleb!!

Hey I’m Kaleb. I’ve been swimming with the Orcas for 8 years and this will be my second year coaching. I like helping swimmers improve their technique and I hope they enjoy swimming as much as I do.

And finally welcoming back to the Orcas is Coach Kayden!

Hey! My name is Kayden Code, and I was involved in competitive swimming for 10 years. I loved the sport so much that I decided to become a coach! My favourite part about coaching is watching swimmers improve, achieve their goals, and gain confidence in themselves. I also love being able to pass down all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained throughout my years in the sport.
When I’m not at the pool, you’ll usually find me outdoors or spending time with my two cats. I love going on adventures, no matter the challenge, and exploring the beautiful mountains and national parks around us.

Next up is assistant Coach Krysta!!

As an Edson Orca Alumni, Krysta Hawboldt is excited to return to the Edson Orcas family in a new role as an Assistant Coach with the Beginners Program. Having grown up in the club, she is passionate about giving back to the sport and supporting young swimmers as they begin their athletic journey.

It’s still National Coaches week and today we would like to celebrate our assistant coaches! First up is Coach Eva!

We also can’t forget about this guy. He’s the voice of our home swim meets, awesome cheerleader from the stands when he’s not on deck and all around fun guy. A round of applause for Coach Tyler!!

My name is Tyler Shaw. I am one of the assistant coaches helping on deck. I was a competitive swimmer for many years in Ontario. I love being outdoors, fishing or swimming in lakes and oceans all over the world with my family. When I’m not helping with the Orcas, I work in Wildfire, fighting forest fires in the summer and walking around the forest all winter. I look forward to helping everyone enjoy swim club as much as I did when I was younger.

National Coaching Week continues. Three cheers for Coach Laura!!

Hi everyone I’m coach Laura! This is my second year coaching, which means I’ve officially spent enough time on the pool deck to accept that I will never be completely dry again. I’m a mom of two—one swimmer and one committed land mammal—and I absolutely love working with kids. Outside the pool, I love music, dancing, and pretending my dance moves are significantly better than they actually are!

Celebrating the first of our coaches. ❤️ Let’s give it up for Coach Breanne!!

Hi I’m coach Breanne. Being a swim coach is more than teaching strokes and training for races. It’s about watching swimmers grow, build confidence, and achieve goals they may have thought were out of reach. Seeing their hard work, dedication, and progress makes each early morning and hot pool deck worth it. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey and help them become the best swimmers they can be.
