Thanks so much for all the support❤️

Some big milestones were reached as the Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara hosted his 5th Annual ‘Charity Golf Tournament’ at the Edson Golf Club on August 28.

This year the tournament was supporting the Community Care Foundation of Edson and District with $25,976.34 raised for the group.

“Every year the community and local businesses step up in a big way to support this event and the organizations we contribute to.” said Mayor Kevin Zahara. “The Community Care Foundation does great work for our region as they work alongside local healthcare professionals to identify needs and fund essential medical equipment. We appreciate the work they are doing, and we hope this money will help gain traction as they aim to purchase a CT Scanner for the Edson Hospital.”

Currently, patients in Edson and surrounding communities are required to travel out of town for CT scans, often adding to the stress during potential time-sensitive situations.

With this year’s donation, over $128,000 has now been raised for Edson non-profit groups over 5 years of hosting the golf tournament.

The Town of Edson would also like to thank the Edson Golf Club and Town staff for organizing the event, and the many generous sponsors, prize donors, and volunteers that made the event possible.

A huge thank you to Cenovus Energy for their generous $10,000 donation in support of the Community Care Foundation's CT Scanner Campaign!

With this incredible gift, the 2026 Fashion Show has now raised a total of $41,300, all going towards our CT Scanner Campaign. Every dollar brings us one step closer to reducing travel, easing stress for patients and families, and bringing lifesaving diagnostic care closer to home.

The numbers are staggering.

Every year, residents of our region travel approximately 1.2 million kilometres and spend nearly 12,000 hours on the road to access CT scans. That's time away from family, missed work, travel expenses, and added stress during an already difficult time.

A CT scanner in Edson would mean faster diagnoses, quicker treatment decisions, and improved access to healthcare close to home.
