Dundas Modular Railway Club

Dundas Modular Railway Club Fearuring HO and N scale layouts! Established in 1992
Dundas On. The Dundas Modular Railway Club was formed out of the first annual St. Over the years at St.

Paul's United Church Hobbyfest in the spring of 1993. Realizing there was enough interest to form a club, the Dundas Modular Railway Club was born. The original concept of the club was that each member would own a module built to specific standards and would be able to set up their module with those of other members or even other clubs. As plans moved forward, the true 'modular' design was eventua

lly scrapped and a more sectional design was adapted. The name 'Modular' remains in the club name to this day. Paul's, we built and rebuilt many parts of the layout. We took it on the road countless times. We became part of the fabric of the community of Dundas...taking part in the Cactus Fest Parade, building a diorama for the Dundas Little Theater and building a Christmas layout that can be found in a storefront in the downtown. We helped out at St. Paul's too...helping them start their breakfast program, donating train sets for needy kids at Christmas, helping St.Paul's with their elevator retrofit and even serving coffee at coffee hour a time or two. In January of 2011, changes within St. Paul's Church meant finding a new home. Luckily, we found one quickly in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36 in Dundas. Our first open house at the Legion took place on Canada Day 2011 and we were overwhelmed with the response and support from the public and the Legion. Canada Day open houses are in conjunction with the Legion's Canada Day festivities and are always well attended and a lot of fun! Many of our members have become Legion members as well and we enjoy the camaraderie and atmosphere that the Legion provides. We meet on Tuesday evenings from around 7 to 9 pm in the upstairs hall of the Legion. Most meetings find us working on the layout, building trees, working on small projects or simply enjoying the camaraderie and fellowship. We always welcome anyone who would like to stop in and see what we're all about. Maybe you have a model train question, or maybe you are thinking of joining a club. Novice to expert are welcome and no question is too trivial. If traveling any distance, you may want to contact us to ensure we are there when you are stopping in. Just in case it's one of those rare nights we're not there. If the layout seems familiar to you, you may have seen us in the past and not even realized it. We spent considerable time in the late 90's early 2000's set up in Mountain Plaza Mall. We also have taken the layout to many shows such as....
