SUCCESS STORY 🎉

When Susan first came to WorkBC Centre Cranbrook, she was facing significant challenges. Living in a rural community, experiencing financial hardship, and recovering from the impacts of abuse, she had been out of the workforce and struggling with anxiety about the future. Through personalized case management, resume and cover letter support, and participation in programs such as ENCORE, LINK, and In Motion & Momentum+, Susan began rebuilding her confidence. The safe and supportive environment helped her reconnect with her goals and believe in her potential again.

A turning point came during the ENCORE program, where Susan formed a friendship that encouraged her through some of her darkest days. Through workshops, certifications, and ongoing support from her Employment Consultant and peers, she strengthened her employment readiness. She also achieved a lifelong goal that had once felt out of reach by earning her driver’s licence.

Today, Susan is proudly employed with Top Crop, a local gardening and seed company. There she has found work she genuinely enjoys and looks forward to each day. She now enjoys a stable home, healthy relationships, and a future filled with possibilities that once seemed unattainable.

SUCCESS STORY 🎉

After three years of unemployment, Monica was determined not to give up on finding work. Facing barriers such as limited transportation, a lack of recent work experience, being a mature worker and low computer literacy, Monica turned to WorkBC Centre Cranbrook for support as she worked to re-enter the workforce.

Through one-on-one case management, resume and cover letter assistance, interview preparation, and skills development opportunities, Monica began rebuilding her confidence and creating a clear path toward her employment goals.

With WorkBC’s support, Monica completed her FoodSafe and Serving It Right certifications, building the skills needed to pursue new opportunities. She also participated in the InMotion + Momentum program, where she strengthened her goal-setting skills and connected with valuable community resources. Today, Monica is successfully employed as a cashier with Shoppers Drug Mart, a reflection of her adaptability and commitment to building a brighter future. Her story proves that it’s never too late to begin again.

SUCCESS STORY 🎉

After six months of unemployment, Holdsworth took a chance and reached out to the WorkBC Centre Cranbrook. That decision changed everything. As a mature worker, immigrant, and resident of a remote community, the odds weren’t in his favour. Limited opportunities and skill gaps stood in the way. But with determination and the right support, Holdsworth turned a challenging situation into a fresh start.

With the support of his Employment Consultant, Harleen, Holdsworth stayed focused, motivated, and moving forward. Through personalized support, including case management, resume and cover letter guidance, and targeted skills training, he built the confidence to pursue advanced professional credentials and turn his big goals into real progress.

Today, Holdsworth is thriving. After earning a Lead Auditor Certificate, he is now fully qualified to audit health and safety, quality, and environmental protocols. He currently works full-time with Peak Security while growing his own consultancy and freelance business, creating a strong and sustainable future for himself.
