Chantal is a passionate community leader, volunteer, and advocate who is well known for her commitment to making Cornwall a warmer and more caring community. Through her dedication to initiatives such as Warm Up Cornwall (co-founder) and her involvement with local organizations (Vice Chair of the United Way/Centraide of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Board of Directors, past Club Vice President Optimist Club of Cornwall, and serving on Heritage - Patrimoine Cornwall), she has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping others and building meaningful connections (advocating for kindness and community engagement, including requesting that Cornwall proclaim Pay It Forward Day in 2023). We are thrilled to welcome Chantal and look forward to the experience, passion, and community spirit she will bring to our Board!

FREE Daycare Worker program
Sept 15 to Oct 15
Tuesdays and Thursdays
2pm to 4pm
-Prepares participants for entry-level jobs in childcare settings
-Also serves as career exploration program for those seeking further education

Childcare is an important and growing job field in Cornwall and SDG. There is a strong need for trained and entry-level childcare workers because of population growth, more licensed childcare spaces, and worker shortages.

Think outside the box… or build outside the box!

Our Communication Works learners took on the Spaghetti Tower Building Challenge—an icebreaker that encouraged teamwork, communication, creativity and problem-solving.

It’s amazing what can happen when you listen, share ideas, work together and learn from a few wobbly towers!

These hands-on activities help learners practise the communication skills they need both at work and in everyday life.
