💥7 months of training💥Now it’s go time!

Since September, our Young Canadians have been putting in the hours - training, rehearsing, and leveling up in dance, vocals, and performance, with highlights including Holiday performances, a unique collaboration experience with Cirque du Soleil ECHO, and their own YC Show at the Jubilee Auditorium, already under their belts.

And now… we shift gears 🤠🔥

Grandstand rehearsals are officially underway. 10 weeks to level up, lock in, and get ready for the biggest stage of the summer.

Because when July hits, these performers light up the stage as part of the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show for all 10 nights 🎇

This moment - captured from last summer alongside an unforgettable lineup of talent, is just a glimpse of what’s possible. And now, it’s their turn to bring that energy back to the stage.

The countdown is ON ⏳

💫That’s a wrap 💫

From our first filming days in December to finishing our final episodes last week, our Young Canadian Juniors and Novice Program performers have loved being part of this special 8-part series with our Vocal Faculty member, Mx Mandy.

Mandy Faye uses music, movement, and art to explore mental health for young audiences, with our performers featured in “Movement with Mandy,” encouraging kids to dance, express themselves, and connect from home 💛

We’re so proud of the creativity, confidence, and joy these young artists brought to every moment!

Catch the series on TELUS Optik and Mandy Faye's YouTube channel starting in the Fall 2026 📽

Lights, camera… perform! 🎬✨

This week, our Intermediate and Senior Dancers are stepping into an exciting video project, working with a professional Cinematographer to capture a solo performance with incredible lighting and production.

Each dancer will receive a high-quality video they can use for future auditions and opportunities, an amazing experience both on and off the stage.

🎤✨We’re excited to share a special evening just for our Young Canadians families ✨🎤

Our Intermediate and Senior Singers will be taking the stage for their Vocal Showcase — an opportunity to perform solo pieces on live mics, accompanied by a live band. It’s an incredible experience that highlights their growth, confidence, and artistry.

We’re so proud of the hard work these performers have put in and can’t wait for our families to enjoy an evening of amazing talent and music.

We are beyond proud to celebrate one of our incredible Dance Faculty members, Elena Toth, on being awarded a prestigious scholarship at the University of Calgary 💫

This meaningful award, made possible by the Gartner Family and friends, honours the legacy of Miss Rochelle — a gifted performer, passionate educator, and inspiring leader in Calgary’s dance community. As one of the first graduates of the University of Calgary’s Dance program in 1997, her impact continues to live on through dancers like Elena.

Presented annually at the “Dance@Night” event, this scholarship recognizes 4th year dance students who embody dedication, artistry, and a deep love for the craft. We are so thrilled to see Elena recognized in this way — her commitment to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring young performers shines through in everything she does.

A proud Young Canadian alumni of 7 years, Elena’s journey has come full circle — from performing on stage to now inspiring the next generation of artists. We are incredibly fortunate to have role models like Elena guiding our students 💛

Congratulations, Elena — your passion continues to inspire us all!

Throwback Thursday 💫

This past November 1, 2025, our Senior Singers had the incredible privilege of performing at the National Music Centre in support of the Jaimie Hill & Tammy-Lynn Powers Memorial Foundation — for the second year in a row.

This foundation holds a very special place in our hearts. The afternoon celebrated 20 talented Alberta dancers, each awarded a scholarship in honor of Tammy-Lynn Powers and Jaimie Hill — two remarkable individuals whose legacy continues to inspire young performers every day.

Performing on the Jaimie Hill & Tammy-Lynn Powers Memorial Stage was both inspiring and meaningful. We are so grateful to be part of an event that uplifts the next generation while honoring lives that left a lasting impact 💙

Last night was one for the books ✨️

Our Senior Company had the incredible opportunity to train in a high-energy Pom class with guest teacher and Young Canadian alumni, Anna Steele 💥

From her early days on stage to now performing with the Rhinestone Cowgirls, Roughnecks Drill Crew, and Calgary Stampeders Outriders, Anna continues to inspire with her passion, versatility, and dedication to her craft. Her journey has taken her across North America, training with top industry professionals - and even performing alongside the Jonas Brothers at the 2024 Grey Cup Halftime Show 🤯

But what stood out most in the studio was her commitment to creating a positive, empowering space where every dancer felt seen and pushed to grow ❤️

We are so proud to welcome back alumni who are making waves in the industry and giving back to the next generation.

Thank you, Anna, for sharing your talent, energy, and love of dance with our Seniors ✨️

✨ We were grateful to welcome Stephen Sills back to work with our Intermediate and Senior Company members this past week as part of our ongoing Wellness Program.

Stephen, a Registered Psychologist who has been working with the Calgary Stampede Foundation for the past two years, spent time with our young performers sharing valuable tools and strategies to help them navigate pressure, build resilience, and support their overall well-being.

Providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults in Calgary, Stephen continues to be an important resource for our performers, faculty, staff, and families. His work helps foster a healthy and supportive environment where our young artists can thrive both on and off the stage.

Thank you, , for investing in the wellness and growth of our performers.
