Every education award is first and foremost a member achievement. A milestone in their own learning and growth.

And every milestone also moves MVP Advanced closer to our DCP goals. A win for the member. A win for the club!

Russ Dantu, President, and John Hallet, VP Education, presenting the ribbons to Farheen, Molly, Shelley and Russ.

Congratulations to our members who continue to Engage, Connect and Grow. ♥️

25 years. We remember.

On September 11, 2001, the world watched events unfold that would change countless lives and leave an imprint on history.

Today, 25 years later, we remember those who lost their lives, the families who carry their memories, and the first responders and ordinary people who stepped forward in extraordinary circumstances.

Some moments remind us that beyond our differences, our shared humanity matters most.

We remember.

Never step on enthusiasm.

It’s a lesson our VP Education, John Hallett, first learned as a military officer, carried with him to Afghanistan as a Combat Engineer troop commander, and later brought into his Toastmasters journey.

John discovered that good evaluation isn't simply about pointing out what could be better. Sometimes it means asking the right questions, helping someone discover their own solutions, and protecting the enthusiasm that got them up to speak in the first place.

Read John’s story on the District 208 blog. https://d208tm.org/never-step-on-enthusiasm/

What’s it like to move up to the “Big Kid’s Table” at a Toastmasters International Convention?

MVP Advanced member Brenda Irwin, who is also active in other Toastmasters clubs, shares her first International Convention experience in Vancouver, from volunteering and networking to those valuable conversations that happen in hallways, lunch lines and everywhere in between.

And she wasn’t the only familiar MVP face there. Long-time fellow member Dave Cartledge was at the Convention too!

A fun perspective on learning, connecting and discovering that even the Toastmasters “titans” are pretty approachable after all. 😊

I recently had the full experience of the Toastmasters International 2026 Convention in Vancouver, BC. Before that, I had only attended regional conferences.

Our last meeting of summer was a blast! The ECG ❤️ of MVP Advanced was beating strongly!

It was yet another evening of "Engaging, Connecting and Growing", with three very different speeches and plenty of laughter along the way.

We had lively Table Topics from Shelley, great energy from our Toastmaster Agnes, and plenty of opportunities to Grow through our three-part evaluations and feedback from Val, our GE.

We also welcomed our guest, Frank, and some of us continued Connecting over food and conversation at Boston Pizza after the meeting.

That’s the heartbeat of MVP Advanced:

❤️ Engage. Connect. Grow.
