Today the Rotary Club of Brockville and the Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands celebrated the EarlyAct students at Vanier Public School.

Pizza, soft drinks, cupcakes and ice cream sundaes were enjoyed by all to celebrate a successful year of EarlyAct at Vanier.

Marilyn presented student participants with their certificates.

Ken Durand explained some of the different types of Rotary exchanges programmes, as well as a variety of camps (there is even an archaeologist camp). He reminded and urged students they can also participate in Rotary programmes to get their 40 volunteer hours needed to graduate high school.

Matt Durand spoke about being a volunteer much of his life and reminded the students that any ideas they may have for Rotary participation are welcome.

One of the students presented flowers to Mrs. Tom who is the teacher point person for EarlyAct as well as thanks for her support.

John Maskell gave a well deserved thank you to Marilyn for all her hard work and dedication to the EarlyAct programme and the students at Vanier Public School.
