This week it is the turn of Wendy Cook to be the Artist in the Spotlight. 'Abstract Landscape 1' is currently showing in the new exhibition in the Corridor Art Gallery at Brockville General Hospital
"This impressionism style painting has mood, depth and atmosphere all in one. All the qualities of a good abstract," says Wendy.

In 1957 the Ladies Auxiliary submitted the following report as their AGM entry. Items crafted by the group were then sold in the WAGON gift shop and cafe (opened in 1955). Today, you can still find handmade items in the Gift Shop to purchase. Monies raised from sales in the Gift Shop and Eleanor's Cafe go towards purchasing medical equipment for Brockville General Hospital

These are just some of the nearly 200 blankets and quilts we’ve received for the Blankets of Kindness program. Our original goal was to collect 100 blankets by the end of 2026 — and here we are in May, already closing in on 200!
Our community has truly shown up in the most generous way, and we couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for every stitch, every donation, and every act of kindness.
At this time, we’ll continue to accept blankets, but our request is no longer urgent. The blankets received so far will be lovingly shared with the Palliative Care and Transitional Care teams to ensure they reach patients who need them most.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. 💙

Exciting things are happening at Eleanor’s Café at Brockville General Hospital.
Today, our amazing Volunteers began using a brand‑new Clover system in the café.
Every purchase you make in Eleanor’s Café or the Gift Shop directly supports Brockville General Hospital by helping fund new medical equipment. So if you’ve grabbed a coffee or picked up a gift lately—thank you! You’ve helped make a difference for our patients and care teams. ❤️

The Volunteer Association received a donation of 11 beautifully hand made quilts from the Thousand Islands Quilters' Guild last week. These quilts will be given to the Palliative Care and Transitional Care units, so that patients and families can receive them when they stay in the hospital. Thank you so much to the Guild for their donation towards the Blankets of Kindness project.

Thursday afternoons at Brockville General Hospital come with a little extra warmth - because it’s Tea Cart time! ☕🍪 Our amazing volunteers roll two tea carts through the hospital, sharing free drinks and cookies with patients, visitors, families, and staff. It’s a simple gesture that sparks smiles, starts conversations, and reminds everyone that kindness is always on the menu.
During National Volunteer Week, we’re proud to celebrate the volunteers who turn an ordinary Thursday into a moment of comfort, connection, and kindness.
