We’re hanging out with kittens AND doggos today! 😍❤️

Come meet some of our adorable kittens looking for their forever homes, along with Hazel, a beautiful girl from Northern Ontario who’s ready to find her very own family. 🐶🐱

Plans have changed! To give these tiny kittens the best possible chance of survival, they’ll now be heading into the care of another experienced rescue with experienced bottle feeders. ❤️🐾

We urgently need a driver to get them from St. Thomas to Cambridge ASAP!

DRIVER FOUND!

💔 Four tiny kittens were found abandoned on the street, discarded like garbage and left to fend for themselves. Tragically, one of the kittens was run over and didn’t survive. 💔

We need to get the surviving babies into care asap! We have temporary foster care lined up, but we desperately need a driver to get these little ones from St. Thomas to Cambridge as soon as possible.

❤️ They’ll be travelling into the care of another experienced rescue that has experienced fosters for bottle babies, where they’ll have the support and care they need to have the best possible chance at survival.

Blu / Female Spayed / 4 Years / Northern Low Rider / 35lbs / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: YES!! Location: Trenton 📍

This little low rider is READY to find her forever family, and we honestly can’t say enough good things about her! 🥹

If you remember, Blu came to us in early June from northern Manitoba after being hit by a car a month or two earlier, leaving her with a broken pelvis. Thankfully, her injury just needed crate rest and time to heal, and she’s now all healed up and ready to move on to the next chapter of her life! 🥳

We do want to mention that Blu has some mild arthritis in one of her ankles. It doesn’t bother her much at all, and while she has medication for the occasional day she needs a little extra help, those days are few and far between right now. The biggest thing is keeping her at a healthy weight to protect those little legs!

Now, onto the important stuff… BLU IS BASICALLY THE BEST GIRL. 😍

Known as a northern low rider, her breed mix is anyone’s guess! What we do know is that she has the cutest little short legs and a personality that’s just as adorable. ❤️

🐶 Dogs? Loves them!

🐱 Cats? No problem!

👧 Kids? Absolutely!

👶 Babies? Oh, she LOVES them!

Blu is a low-energy kind of girl who would fit beautifully into all sorts of homes, including a family with a little baby. She’s happy just being near her people and soaking up all the love she can get.

She’s house-trained, crate-trained, sweet as can be, and just an all-around wonderful companion. Blu doesn’t need you to entertain her every second of the day. She just wants to be where you are, and honestly, what more could you ask for? 🥰

Okay, we should probably mention one tiny flaw… Blu is VERY food motivated. 😂 She firmly believes that whatever you’re eating should also belong to her, and she will absolutely do her best to convince you of this. However, because of her arthritis, keeping her at a healthy weight is super important. So, as much as she might argue otherwise, sticking to her regular kibble and keeping those extra treats in check is the best way to keep her feeling good!

Blu is past the chaotic puppy stage but isn’t quite a senior. She’s at that lovely age where you get all the goodness of a dog who’s settled into herself, without the puppy madness.

Honestly? The perfect age, the perfect little low rider, and quite possibly the perfect dog. 💙

Blu has been through enough already. Now it’s her turn to find a family who will love her for the rest of her days, short legs, food-stealing ambitions and all!

Meet Fudge!

Fudge is a sweet boy who can be a little timid at first, but once he warms up, he absolutely loves pets and being around his people. He’ll happily come over to greet you and seek out pets, and his sweet personality really comes out once he feels comfortable. He’s still getting used to everything around him and building his confidence, but he’s making great progress.

He’s playful, curious, and quick! He absolutely loves his springs and wand toys, and he’s always ready to chase after something fun. He also loves to climb and is always curious about what’s around the next corner.

Fudge is still a little timid around dogs, but he just needs some time to adjust and build his confidence. With patience and a little time, we think he’ll continue to come out of his shell. He’s also good with kids and has such a sweet nature.

Fudge is a gentle, playful little guy who just needs someone willing to give him the time and patience to let his personality shine.

Our sweet boy Percy is officially ready to find his people! 🥹

If you’ve been following along, you might remember that Percy is siblings with Zara (still looking for her family!), Poppy, Meesha, and Bruce (also still looking for his family!). Percy arrived last alongside his brother Canyon, who sadly lost his battle with the deadly parvovirus. Percy tested positive as well, but thankfully, he never developed symptoms. ❤️

Percy is a pretty chill little dude overall, but don’t let that fool you. When it’s time to play, he can go long and hard! Tug-of-war and his favourite game of “keep away” are right up his alley, so his future family should be ready to join in on the fun. 😂

He’s working on his crate training and would much rather spend the night close to his humans than be away from the action. Potty training is also a work in progress, he is still a baby after all.

Percy absolutely loves his foster kids and likes to keep them within eyesight. Apparently, he’s appointed himself the family supervisor, making sure everyone stays where they belong while the parents get a little break. 😂 Don’t worry, guys, Percy’s got it covered!

He loves his toys, LOVES his treats, and picks up on new commands quickly. More than anything, he just wants to be part of whatever his people are doing. He’s got a fun-loving personality, plenty of puppy energy, and a whole lot of affection to give. And when playtime is over? This boy can NAP. We’re talking all kinds of ridiculous, adorable sleeping positions. 💤

Percy would absolutely love a canine friend to play with and snuggle up to! He adores his foster brother, and cuddling together is one of his favourite pastimes. That said, he could also do well as the only dog in the home with a family ready to give him plenty of love, playtime, and attention.

Percy will be neutered at six months of age through one of our approved veterinary partners, and this is included in his adoption fee.

Now all that’s missing is a family of his very own! Could Percy be the little guy you’ve been waiting for?

🐾 Happy Tails Sunday! 🐾

Adoptions have been a little slow lately 🥲, but today we’re here to celebrate a very special boy who officially went HOME! ❤️

Our sweetest Baxter is off to start his happily ever after with his forever family, and what an adventure our volunteers had getting him here! 🫠 But we’ll save that story for another day.

Baxter is one of Luna’s puppies, and the last litter she will ever have! 🥹❤️ We’re so happy that Luna’s days of having puppies are behind her and that she can focus on being a dog and enjoying the life she deserves. No more babies for this mama, just lots of love and a brighter future ahead!

Baxter, we can’t wait to watch you grow, explore the world, and of course, watch those absolutely adorable ears get even bigger! 😂

Happy Tails, sweet boy! You have so much life ahead of you, and we couldn’t be happier that you get to spend it with your very own family. ❤️

🐾 A HUGE THANK YOU to another one of our amazing Pet Valu partners! ❤️

Today, we’re giving a special shoutout to Pet Valu at 5111 New Street in Burlington, who raised an incredible $649 through their Paws Fundraiser back in June! 🐶🐱

We’ve been working with this store for many years now, and their support has always been absolutely top-tier. We’re so grateful to have partners who continue to show up for us and the animals in our care, year after year.

The reality is, we couldn’t keep doing what we do without the support of our community and amazing partners like this one. ❤️

This donation will go directly toward our veterinary bills, which, sadly, we never seem to have a shortage of! Between routine care, unexpected illnesses, surgeries, and everything in between, the vet bills just keep coming. Every dollar really does make a difference.

☕ SKIP A SIP SATURDAY! 🐾

Today we’re fundraising for an unexpected vet bill for our mama cat, Truffle. ❤️

Truffle wasn’t feeling well, so we got her into the vet yesterday to figure out what was going on. What started with some X-rays quickly turned into emergency exploratory surgery, and what they found was pretty serious.

Truffle had an intussusception of her colon. Basically, part of her colon had folded in on itself, almost like closing up a spyglass. This can restrict blood flow to the tissue and cause a dangerous blockage.

The vet had to remove about 1.5 inches of her colon, and Truffle spent the day at the clinic being closely monitored. The good news? She’s now back home with her foster family and starting her recovery. ❤️‍🩹

As scary as it was, we’re incredibly lucky we got her seen when we did. The vet didn’t expect her to survive the night without treatment. 😢

Truffle has some healing ahead of her, but she’s expected to make a full recovery!

Now for the not-so-great news… her vet bill came in just shy of $1,100, and that doesn’t include the special diet she’ll need while she recovers, which costs $6.50 per can.

So, we’re asking you to SKIP A SIP this Saturday! ☕ ➡️ 🐱

🐾 A big ol’ THANK YOU to our Pet Valu friends! 🐾

We are so lucky to have such amazing Pet Valu stores supporting us all across Ontario. ❤️ These partnerships make such a huge difference to our rescue, and to a LOT of hungry faces!

Some of this food comes straight home with us to feed the animals currently in our care, but a significant amount heads north to remote and underserved communities where access to affordable pet food can be incredibly limited.

That food helps people who are doing everything they can to care for their animals, including feeding roaming dogs, stray dogs, community dogs, and pets belonging to families who are struggling to keep their animals fed.

For some of these communities, donations like this mean there is actually food available to put into a dog’s bowl. It helps keep animals fed, helps people keep the pets they love, and gives us an opportunity to support communities that simply don’t have the same resources available to them.

Today’s special shoutout goes to petvalu410and7 in Brampton for this incredibly generous donation! 🙌🏼❤️

What might look like a pile of donated food here can mean hundreds, sometimes thousands, of meals once it reaches the north.
