The Board meets monthly and works as a team to ensure the Auxiliary fulfills its mission, and is strong, effective and trustworthy. As The Auxiliary prepares to review it's accomplishments for the 2025/2026 fiscal year with our members at the Annual General Meeting on June 25, we felt it was a great time to look back at our previous 2024/2025 fiscal year. The Auxiliary raised the funds and purchased $66,955 worth of equipment for South Muskoka Memorial Hospital from that period. The purchased equipment included:

New vending machines for the Garden Court
Crash cart & accessories and Sara Stedy for the Emergency Department
Blanket warmer for the Intensive Care Unit
Warming cabinet for the Operating Room
Wide Clinical Care Recliner for the Infusion Clinic
Two Bariatric Wheelchairs and Overbed Tables for Patient Care
Coffee Maker/Fridge/ Kettle and Fan for the Registration Area

We are proud of how we have supported Bracebridge Hospital, not only with our volunteer services but also, with new equipment.

The Board is excited to share our 2025/2026 fundraising success with all Auxiliary members at this month's AGM!!

The countdown is on for the 2026 Quilt Show. In just over a week, the Pine Tree Quilters' Guild of Muskoka will fill the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre with more than 300 handmade quilts, live demonstrations, a youth exhibit, and plenty of inspiration.

As part of the celebration, don’t miss the Quilt Raffle featuring five beautiful handmade quilts, with proceeds supporting South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and Hospice Muskoka.

SMMH Auxiliary provides stuffies and books for children coming to our emergency department. We hope they will provide comfort and help ease these children's anxiety. Nancy Rosen is a new donor to our Auxiliary who has blown us away with her hand-made creations for the kids. Thank you, Nancy!

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare Board and staff put on a fabulous dinner for the volunteers from both South Muskoka and Huntsville Hospitals. All of us had a great time, fine food, and enjoyed the draw prizes sponsored by Paul and Lea Kane, RLP.
