— Tibetan Buddhist Camping Retreat at Wutai Shan Buddhist Garden, Canada. —
As autumn gently embraces Wutai Shan Buddhist Garden, the mountains and forests become a sanctuary of peace and spiritual reflection.
For the first time, 150 practitioners from diverse cultural backgrounds and countries gathered for a three-day Tibetan Buddhist camping retreat, including nearly 100 Western participants.
From September 18–20, participants immersed themselves in the Black Wrathful Mother Retreat, which concluded with a Phowa ceremony. On September 21, the Riwo Sangchö smoke offering and fire offering ceremonies welcomed the public.
Away from the noise of everyday life, practitioners came together in meditation, devotion, and spiritual connection.
More than a retreat, this gathering was a beautiful meeting of hearts, transcending language, ethnicity, and cultural boundaries. The growing participation of Western practitioners reflects an increasing appreciation for Buddhist teachings of compassion, wisdom, and inner peace in Canadian society.
Dharma knows no borders, and compassion is a universal language.
