Belleville Weavers & Spinners Guild The aim is to further the interest in weaving & spinning plus offer educational services and to improve the skill and artistry of those participating.

History
In February of 1956, Hazel Hayes, Ida Godden, Florence Ayling, Helen Sulman, Lil Watson, Lily Moult, and Janet Gilroy founded the Belleville Weavers Guild with the assistance of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Belleville Recreation Dept. Their aim was to "further interest in weaving by sharing ideas and information and by planned programs." Today, the name and aims of the gui

ld have been expanded to include spinning. Guild members have always been involved in the Quinte area with teaching demonstrations, fashion shows, "Sheep to Shawl" days, Pioneer activity days, children's craft days, community women's programs, the Corby Library Gallery's "Brown Bag Lunch" programs, and they are always glad to consider taking part in community events.
