When applying to rent an apartment or a house, landlords will ask various questions to determine your suitability as a tenant. But some questions you are not required to answer, and if a landlord tries to reject your application based on them, they are interfering with your rights.

The Ontario Human Rights Code prohibits actions that discriminate against people based on things like age, sexuality, gender expression, and religion.
