“One hand can’t clap…” – this is something our CEO always says! So, to all our partners and supporters, thank you! Hailey Jones, Town of Aurora we are so grateful for your continued commitment to this partnership!
To the community leaders and MP, MPPs who are forever standing with us and always supporting the community: Dawn Gallagher Murphy, Minister Michael Parsa, our Mayor Tom Mrakas, and councillors like Harold Kim, thank you for assisting with our Youth Leaders Award Recipients! Thanks also to John Gallo for popping in for a quick visit. Jeff Martin, you’re too awesome! Thank you for your uplifting words yesterday!
A special thanks to MP Costas Menegakis, who ensured a scroll was sent to honour our youth and our work even though he was away!
Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude! 🙏🏽 Wow! Wow! Wow! Thank you, everyone! 275 people attended our annual Back to School Sports Day event! (Last year we had 209!) Sadly, we ran out of backpacks after giving away 210 bags. Our CEO, Phiona Durrant, is working on getting another 15 bags for the students who didn’t get one yesterday. If you can support us with this, please let us know!Otherwise, we had a marvellous event! More details and official thanks to come once our photos and videos are available. The countdown is officially on for our 2nd Annual Back-to-School Sports Day! Phiona Durrant Phiona Z Durrant has been busy getting it all put together!
We are incredibly grateful for the amazing community support we’ve received over the last few days. A massive thank you to Canadian Tire for Jump Start for donating basketballs and soccer balls for the kids!
Food is key and we can’t thank Fuel4Kids enough for sponsoring the meals for everyone! Joan Monzac we are so grateful for your altruistic support!
A special shoutout to SVP Sports for coming through for the second year in a row to organize the backpacks, and for their incredible customer service.
This event wouldn’t be possible without our incredible community partners standing alongside us:

ABC’s 2nd Annual Back-to-School Sports Day is officially here. This is made possible with the amazing partnership with the Town of Aurora, York Region Police, CCSYR and the Aurora Barbarian Rugby!

We are bringing hundreds of youth, families, leaders and first responders including the York Regional Police together for a day of connection, sports, and fun!
Whether you are in kindergarten or heading off to university, this day is for you!

Come out, grab your free backpack, with school supplies for the new school year.

Here is what we have lined up for you:
Free school gear: Grab one of our 200+ free backpacks and essential supplies.
First responder and leader connection: Meet and play with local frontline heroes and government officials.
A variety of different Sports: Try something new, including an intro to rugby session with the Aurora Barbarians or pickle ball!
