The St. George's Foundation The St. George's Foundation charity supports Bermuda's UNESCO World Heritage Site Town of St.

George and its Related Fortifications through collaboration, education and preservation. We are committed to involving our members, volunteers and cultural partners as we continue our mission to educate and increase awareness of everything our valuable UNESCO World Heritage Site has to offer to Bermuda's schoolchildren, our community, and visitors. Our island is home to fortifications that display four centuries of British masonry coastal defense and our mission is to ensure their longevity for future generations to learn about our past.

The St. George’s Foundation was grateful to be chosen for the Nautilus Indemnity Limited 2026 Impact Day project, and welcomed their enthusiastic team of volunteers to Fort Albert last week.
The staff members left their desks and travelled to the UNESCO World Heritage Site fortification where they descended into the moat and spent time weeding, hoeing and hauling debris out of the 19th century fort.
Great job Nautilus!

The Weekday Warriors braved the heat and waded into the weeds and overgrowth burying the lime kiln at Ferry Point Park this week.
The 19th-century lime kiln, built by the British War Department to serve the construction of forts erected in the early 1800s, is a learning site for the SGF Education Programme which takes place next week.

Over 140 bags of foliage and debris were weeded and hauled out of the moat of Fort George over the past four weeks by the SGF Weekday Warriors and participants of the Department of Corrections Charity Work Release Programme.
