professors, diplomats, psychologists, translators, public relations specialists - people of entirely different nationalities who unite their efforts to achieve the most crucial goal on the planet - to protect the rights and maintain universal, universally recognized human rights enshrined in international documents, as well as to promote these principles in the respective countries. Every person's rights, freedom, and dignity are the organization's main priority. For the benefit of these values, the Shield Congress is committed to maintaining peace and protecting freedom of thought and expression, restoring justice and equality in legal protection to build a robust civil society. African countries celebrate Africa Day on May 25 each year, a historic occasion that represents the journey of African peoples toward freedom, unity, and cooperation, commemorating the establishment of the Organization of African Unity, now known as the African Union.

Africa Day symbolizes the struggle of African nations against decades of colonialism and exploitation, and reflects the determination of African peoples to build a future based on freedom, development, and human dignity. The occasion also embodies the spirit of solidarity and joint action aimed at strengthening stability, peace, and progress across the continent.

The International Shield Organization has received an official invitation from the European Civic Forum (ECF) to participate in the launch event of its annual Civic Space Report, scheduled to take place on May 13, 2026, at the European Parliament in Brussels.

This event comes within the framework of ongoing European efforts to strengthen the role of civil society and to address the challenges facing its work at both national and EU levels, particularly in light of current political and legal developments.

The event will be held under the title:
“The Brussels Effect: Why the EU increasingly shapes the space for civil society, and how to respond?”

The event is expected to bring together a wide range of participants, including civil society organizations, human rights defenders, Brussels-based networks, representatives of EU institutions, international human rights bodies, donors, and journalists. This reflects the importance of the report as a key reference for assessing the state of civic space in Europe.
