Throwback to Bedrijvencontactdagen Brugge

We had the pleasure of joining the vibrant atmosphere at Bedrijvencontactdagen Brugge, where businesses, organisations and professionals from across West Flanders came together to connect and exchange ideas.

We welcomed members of our international community for an informal networking moment at the stand. Over drinks and snacks, participants had the opportunity to meet fellow internationals, connect with the International House West Flanders team, and explore the wide range of companies present at the fair.

It was a great evening filled with valuable conversations, new connections, and inspiring encounters. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make this gathering such a success!

Centuries of history on one side, design, start-ups and student energy on the other. From the Broel Towers and the Grote Markt to the creative scene on Buda Island.

Last week we held our monthly IHWF Bruges Afterwork! 🌍🍻
Plot twist: our partner venue De Republiek was closed. Everyone who showed up still found a great spot to gather thanks to . 🙌

🚶 Roeselare, seen through a local’s eyes! ✨
What a morning! We spent it strolling through Roeselare with Bert Degrauwe, who made every street corner come alive. You could tell he has been fascinated by these stories since he was a kid.
From the home of poet Albrecht Rodenbach to the traces of the two World Wars, Bert had a story ready at every stop. And hearing them on the very spot where it all happened? That makes them stick. 📖
Thank you Bert for the great stories, and thank you to everyone who joined. It was a lovely way to get to know the city and each other. 💙

🗣️ Word of the Week, West Flemish edition: KLAPPEN

In standard Dutch, klappen means "to clap". In West Flanders, it simply means "to talk" or "to have a chat" 😄

Hear it in the wild:
• "Zullen we efkes klappen?" — Shall we have a quick chat?
• "Ze klapt veel." — She talks a lot.

One small word, endless confusion for newcomers, and a perfect example of West Flemish flavour.
