It’s time for the government to choose health over havoc. We can stop bankrolling the destructive, unproven "fire prevention" of FFMV that scars our National Parks - and start backing the Otway Agroforestry Network and Wood4Good. Let's trade evidence-free management for real biodiversity and sustainable timber. One leaves a mess; the other grows timber, biodiversity, and healthier landscapes alongside our farmers.

The Dandenong Ranges National Park has been smashed by loophole logging. We're working with local filmmaker Lewis Haskins to highlight the destruction. Lewis...

It's amazing what can happen in a tent at the Grounded Festival. Rob Pekin, founder of Food Connect Brisbane, a community-supported agriculture (CSA) initiative, likes to draw a workshop! This is his representation of 'How Banking is Changing the Way it Views Land' with Rayne van den Berg Chief Value Officer at Value Australia, and Carmel Onions Executive Manager of Agribusiness Sustainability at the Commonwealth Bank (CBA). It's complex to climb out of the mess we've made of food and the environment but it can be done!

🌿 This Weekend in Monbulk 🌿

Anything can happen at an Echoes of the Land workshop…
…even a spontaneous dip in the river 💧

These photos from our last ECOSS gathering capture the spirit — connection, reflection, creativity, and a little magic.

This weekend in Monbulk at The Living and Learning Centre 1 to 5pm) — you’re invited to join fellow community members to listen to the stories of the land we live on… and to share your own.

Echoes of the Land brings people together to reflect on place, memory, and the legacy we want to plant for future generations.

Through story circles, creative expression, and shared reflection, we’ll explore:
✨ The stories we carry — emotional and ecological
✨ What it means to belong to a place
✨ Hopes for the land and our communities

With memory mapping, story sharing, and writing a postcard to the next generation, we create space for both personal insight and collective vision.

This is an invitation to speak, listen, and imagine what’s possible.

🌱 Hosted by Nangana Landcare Network
🌿 Facilitated by Kim Boswell, The Forever Agenda
🌾 Sponsored by Yarra Ranges Council

Join us this weekend Sunday 19th April in Monbulk.

What began in 1986 with Joan Kirner, Heather Mitchell and a small group of farmers in Winjallock has grown into one of Victoria’s strongest community movements. Today, more than 600 landcare groups and networks are caring for our landscapes - from farms to forests, coastlines to cities.

With volunteer interest at an all-time high, community-led action has never mattered more. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, Landcare Victoria Inc relies on donations to keep this work thriving.

This giving season, your support helps us:
💚 Empower tens of thousands of volunteers
📣 Strengthen Landcare’s advocacy and voice
🤝 Deliver training, project development and professional development
💧 Support sustainable agriculture and environmental outcomes

🌿 All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
