Well, that was a wet one!
Despite the rain, 88 people came along to walk, jog and run Riverbank this morning. Great to see so many smiling faces out there, even if a few of you came back slightly muddier than usual.
It’s been a big few weeks for runners around our area too, with plenty of Riverbank regulars taking on City2Surf and the Sydney Marathon. A special shout-out to Lauren and Michael, who knocked over the full 42.2 km in Sydney last weekend. From Saturday morning 5ks to marathons, you’ve got to start somewhere!
🌟 MILESTONES EVERYWHERE 🌟
We had some big ones today.
Michael and Scott both completed their 500th parkrun. That is a seriously impressive amount of Saturday mornings. Congratulations to you both!
Dominic reached his 10th volunteer, David his 25th volunteer, and Orlando completed his 10th parkrun. Well done everyone.
🌟 NEW FACES & PBs 🌟
We had 16 people joining us at Riverbank for the first time today. Welcome Stuart, Zane, Gerard, Charley, Lachlan, Joshua, Deanne, Alex, Caroline, Elena, Liz, Joe, Celine, Craig, Georgina and Jennifer. Thanks for coming along, hopefully we’ll see you back soon.
Apparently the rain agreed with some of you, because we also had 11 PBs. Congratulations Jasper, Harvey, Orlando, Col, Gracie, Carla, Liesl, Adam, Nahyanali, Alex and Jonathan.
🌟 THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT HAPPEN 🌟
A big thank you to today’s volunteer crew: Benjamin, Brad, David, Tania, Lauren, Tess, Truong, Jessica, Tabitha, James, Dominic, Heather and Sally.
There was a bit of work behind the scenes this week as well after last week’s flooding. Thanks to Fleur for getting the council onto clearing the flood debris from the course, and to Jim for checking everything this morning, doing the final tidy-up and making sure the low crossing was good to go.
Want to help out next Saturday? Send us a message or just have a chat with us at parkrun. The roles are easy to learn and we’re always happy to have another set of hands.
See you next week, hopefully with slightly drier socks!
