The Yass Valley Concert Band recently paid a visit to the historic Liberty Theatre, checking everything off the list ahead of our big concert in November! 🎶✨

There's something really special about preparing to perform in a venue with so much history - and we can't wait to fill this beautiful, iconic space with music.

🎶 A Symphony of Stories at Yass Library! 🎶

The Yass Valley Concert Band had a wonderful time joining Yass Library today for Book Week, celebrating this year's theme, A Symphony of Stories. 📚✨

We brought some much-loved storybook adventures to life through music - from the iconic themes of the Star Wars saga to Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, and other classic tales that have found their way from the page to the stage (and screen!).

The kids also got to see how musicians "read" music together - following the same notes on the page so we can all play in harmony, just like reading a story together as a group. It's a great reminder that music and books both tell stories, just in different languages!

Thank you to Yass Library for inviting us - we loved sharing our love of music and storytelling with the next generation of readers (and maybe a few future musicians too!). 🎷🎺🥁

🎶 The Yass Valley Concert Band is tuning up for our next concert — and the set list is coming together!
We’re excited to be performing at the Liberty Theatre in Yass, and as always, this will be a fundraiser concert. This year, we’re proud to be raising funds to support the restoration of this much-loved local theatre.
