🚩 Always Ready to Respond 🚩

While the patrol season may have finished, the commitment of Bulli SLSC members to serving our community never stops.

Yesterday, Saturday 13 June, a number of Bulli SLSC members found themselves in the right place at the right time when an on-land medical emergency occurred at Bulli.

This incident serves as a reminder that the skills learnt through surf lifesaving extend far beyond the red and yellow flags. Whether on the beach, in the community, or simply going about their daily lives, surf lifesavers are trained to recognise emergencies, take action, and help those in need.

We are incredibly proud of our members who once again demonstrated the values of Surf Life Saving through their calm actions, teamwork, and willingness to help others.

Patrol season or not, Bulli SLSC members are always ready to respond.

What a night.

Bulli SLSC members, families, sponsors and supporters came together to celebrate another outstanding season at our 2025/26 Presentation Night.

We were honoured to welcome special guests Lord Mayor Tania Brown, Surf Life Saving NSW President Elissa Hancock and Surf Life Saving Illawarra President Gunther Enthaler as we recognised the people who make our club so special.

From our junior members taking their first steps in surf lifesaving through to long-serving volunteers, athletes, officials and patrol members, the night was a reminder that Bulli is built on commitment, community and a willingness to give back.

Congratulations to all award recipients and thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful season. And a huge thank you to for being our incredible MC!

28/05/2026

Congratulations to Bulli SLSC Life Member, Maria Caldwell on her re-election as Director of Member Services for Surf Life Saving Illawarra for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons.

Maria’s re-election will see her continue an extraordinary legacy of service, commencing her 21st consecutive season on the Illawarra Branch Board after first being elected in the 2006/07 season as Director of Finance before transitioning into the Director of Member Services role.

Across more than two decades of service, Maria has become one of the most respected and trusted administrators within surf lifesaving. Her commitment, professionalism, and extensive knowledge of Surf Life Saving systems, governance, and member services has helped shape and support clubs and members not only across the Illawarra Branch but also the state.

Maria’s contribution to surf lifesaving is truly historic. Not only is she the longest serving female Director in the history of Surf Life Saving Illawarra, she is also the longest serving Director overall β€” an incredible achievement that reflects her sustained dedication and passion for our movement.

A proud Bulli Surf Life Saving Club Life Member and Surf Life Saving Illawarra Life Member, Maria continues to give back countless hours to surf lifesaving and the wider community.

Bulli SLSC is extremely proud of Maria’s continued contribution not only to our club, but to the broader surf lifesaving community!

Thank you Maria for your ongoing leadership, commitment, and service to our members and community.
