Today, our Wodonga Little Athletics Centre family is remembering one of our own, Ben Nye.

Ben was the kind of volunteer every club hopes to have—always ready to lend a hand, whether it was helping out in the canteen, setting up, packing away, or simply stopping for a chat. His friendly smile, generous spirit and willingness to help made our Centre a warmer, happier place for everyone.

Ben's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He gave so much of himself to our little athletics community, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, kindness and laughter he shared with us.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Ben's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Ben. Thank you for everything you gave to our Centre. You were taken far too soon, but you will always be remembered as part of the Wodonga Little Athletics family. 💙

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 2026 Northern Country Region (NCR) Cross Country Carnival 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

The NCR Cross Country Carnival will be held at:

📍 Moama Recreation Reserve (Brick Alley Oval), Moama
📅 Sunday 19th July 2026
⏰ First event: 12:00pm (midday)

🚗 Entry and parking are via Kirchhofer Street, Moama NSW.

💲 Entry Fee: $28.60 per athlete
(Includes a $1.10 processing fee.)

The entry fee covers participation in both the Region Carnival and the State Championships.

NCR is again offering invitation events for registered athletes who competed in the 2025–2026 season in the following age groups:

• U6 Girls & Boys
• U7 Girls & Boys
• U8 Girls & Boys

✅ Free entry for all invitation events.

In line with Little Athletics Victoria Competition Rules:
• No placings or medals will be awarded.
• All athletes will receive a Participation Ribbon and an Event Card with their time.

🏃 U8 – 1.0km

LAVic is pleased to announce that we will now be recognising Victorian Best Performances (VBPs) for Multi-Class athletes!

WLAC athletes were out in force at the iconic Nail Can Hill run today and absolutely smashed it! 💥

Huge shoutout to Blair H & Leo R for their podium finishes in the Half Can — what an effort! 🥉🥈

Bethany F also dominated, taking out 1st in the U16 category in the Full Can 👏🔥

And how about this from Oscar D… taking on both the Full Can Run and the ride 😳💪

Community Statement – Facebook Governance and Online Conduct

The Centre Executive would like to remind members that matters relating to member conduct are managed in accordance with the Centre’s Constitution and are approached with care, confidentiality, and procedural fairness.

The Constitution sets clear expectations for behaviour, including in public and online spaces, to help ensure the Centre remains a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for our athletes, volunteers, and families.

Any matters brought to the Executive’s attention are considered under the relevant constitutional provisions and addressed through established governance processes. To ensure fairness and protect privacy, the Centre does not comment on individual matters or outcomes.

The Executive thanks members and volunteers for their continued commitment to respectful engagement and constructive communication, both within the Centre and online. These principles are essential to the wellbeing of our community and the positive experience of our athletes.
