A great experience for our team at the Yarn 'n' Grow conference presented by Ray Thompson of One Ground and hosted by Local Jobs Program - Goulburn Murray Employment Region, connecting with solid services supporting young mob into employment. They provide deadly support, helping mob build confidence and learn strong strategies to apply for jobs and stay in work. 💪🏽

Great to bring Workforce Australia Providers Asuria Australia, MADEC Australia and CVGT Employment, On-Country Pathways , training providers Wodonga TAFE , TAFE NSW and local construction employers TVN On-Country and First Scaff together in Wodonga on Monday, with a shared focus on supporting First Nations participants entering the Yarn’N’Grow program next month.
Thank you to Ray Thompson, former NRL player for leading an honest and engaging Cultural Intelligence session, and to all attendees for contributing to the open and respectful discussion. Strong partnerships like these are key to creating meaningful employment pathways for First Nations.

Eli has just completed an 𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗖 journey with On-Country Pathways.

Referred to us by Albury High School - NSW DoE in 2022, the 18-year-old:

💡completed two rounds of our free Work Experience Program in the electrical sector

⚡secured an apprenticeship with Essential Energy as a powerline worker, with application support and 12 months of mentoring under our free Job Placement Support Program

🚗 built up supervised driving hours on our free Driver-Mentor Program, passing his test in March 2025.

That’s what we call a trifecta! 🤩

Now, the apprentice linesworker or ‘liney’ has just been named ‘Block Champion’, a training award voted by his peers. 💪🏽

Nice work Eli and what a way to wrap up your first year on the job and your time with On-Country Pathways. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

A warm On-Country Pathways welcome to our new team members. 👋🏽

Joining us as Program Coordinator for our east and west regions is proud Palawa woman Katrina Brown (left).

Katrina will be liaising with our amazing partners to connect young mob to work experience and job placements in the 16 communities we support across the Riverina Murray region.

And we have two new casual Driver-Mentors: deadly ally Shane Willis and proud Barkindji woman Taleah Dutton.

Our Driver-Mentors help young learners to gain their 120 supervised driving hours and support them as they transition from school to work.

From 16-26 April, schools, youth groups and local councils in NSW will be running activities for young people to celebrate Youth Week. 🥳

Youth Week NSW is an opportunity for young people across the state to come together in their local communities.

There are activities, events and competitions already posted in the events planner and more being added each week.

This year’s theme is 𝔻𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕞. 𝔻𝕒𝕣𝕖. 𝔻𝕠 which we love here at On-Country Pathways because it’s exactly what we see our young participants doing on our employment and driver-mentor programs every day. 🫶🏽
