Strong women, strong culture, strong language.

What a deadly morning we had bringing language to life through learning and sharing.

Mandy & Leisa shared an introduction to Darkinyung language workshop that was filled with learning, connection, laughs and plenty of fun.

The Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services Women’s Group enjoyed the chance to connect with culture and each other, with a lucky door prize adding to the excitement and a small gift presented to all those in attendance as a thank you for being part of the day.

Language keeps culture strong, and every word learned helps carry this knowledge forward for future generations.

What a great morning we had at our Little Deadlies Tuggerah session on Tuesday!

Our gudjagang started the day with Maverick confidently delivering the Acknowledgement all by himself – what a fantastic achievement!

We then enjoyed the beautiful story of Edwina the Emu, continuing on from last session’s book, Edward the Emu. The children were very excited to have the opportunity to carefully hold a real emu egg, just like Edwina's egg in the story.

Inspired by the book, the children painted their own Edwina emus and decorated them with emu feathers. We certainly have some talented little artists here on Darkinung Country!

Next, we practised our number skills, combining our counting with Darkinyung language as we worked on our aim and counting activities. We also spent some time developing our fine motor skills through hands-on learning experiences.

What a deadly job, everyone! We are so proud of you all.

We loved welcoming Remy from the Barang Regional Alliance to our centre today!

Our little learners were completely engaged during story time, listening carefully, asking questions and sharing lots of smiles along the way. Experiences like these help foster a love of reading, language and community connection from an early age.

A big thank you to Remy for spending time with us and making the session so special for our children.

A wonderful session of creating, counting, exploring and learning together from our yagunda baranggu team.

Another Little Deadlies session giving our gudjagang the opportunity to connect, build confidence and develop the skills needed for a strong and positive start to school.

Surrounded by culture, community and family, our little learners engaged in hands-on activities that encouraged creativity, curiosity and a love of learning, while strengthening the connections that support them on their educational journey.
