๐ŸŽค Every Voice Starts Somewhere

๐Ÿ˜ฐ Do you avoid speaking in front of groups?

You're not alone.

Many of our members once felt exactly the same way.

With encouragement, practice, and support, they've discovered confidence they never knew they had.

๐ŸŒฑ Every confident speaker was once a beginner.

โœจ Your first step could be today.

Why not come and see what Toastmasters is all about?

Today we honoured the Late Elise Lonsdale a cherished friend and valued club member we'll deeply miss. ๐Ÿ’™

It was a fabulous meeting with the theme of 'Humour' led by Trevor, our first-time TMOD! Congratulations, Trevor, Elise would have loved it.

๐ŸŽ‰We celebrated wins: Emma returned after time away and nailed the Timer role, Sarah received her badge and did a brilliant first turn as Harkmaster, and Luke was presented the People Choice Award by Heather. We also welcome a wonderful guest Mike, thankyou for coming.

A massive thank you to our evaluators Marlene, Annie M, Kristen, and Heather for the Master Class feedback they provided.

What moment from today will stay with you?

๐Ÿ’ป A big thank you to Community Bank Wandin-Seville
for providing a laptop that helps us stay connected with our wider community via Zoom ๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŒฑ This is where courage grows quietly.
Not everyone walks through our doors feeling confident.

๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Many arrive feeling nervous about speaking in front of others.
But every confident speaker, leader, and communicator started the same way:

โœจ With 30 seconds of courage.

30 seconds to say:
โœ… I'll come along.
โœ… I'll introduce myself.
โœ… I'll give it a try.

At Wandin Toastmasters, we support each other to grow:
๐ŸŽค Confidence
๐Ÿ’ฌ Communication skills
๐ŸŒŸ Leadership abilities
๐Ÿค Lifelong friendships

The hardest step is often the first one.
โ“ Could 30 seconds of courage change your future?
๐Ÿšช Visitors are always welcome.

This week's meeting explores the theme of humour and the important role it plays in helping us connect, learn, and enjoy life's shared moments.

Guided by our Toastmaster of the Day, Trevor,
whose unique sense of humour always keeps us entertained, we're sure to enjoy an afternoon of laughter.

We will also take a moment to honour and remember a valued member Elise, making this a meeting that celebrates both friendship that brings our Toastmasters community together.

๐ŸฉทWhen people think of Toastmasters, they often think of public speaking and leadership. What they don't always see are the friendships that are formed, the encouragement offered, the laughter shared, and the support members give one another both inside and outside the meeting room.

This week has reminded us that Toastmasters is about so much more than speeches. It is about connection, community, and the impact we have on each other's lives. As we reflect on the many tributes being shared for Elise, we are reminded that the relationships built through our club can leave a lasting mark. The kindness, support, and friendship we share along the way are often the things that matter most and are remembered longest.๐Ÿฉท

โค๏ธIn honour of Elise Lonsdale who joined Toastmasters in April, 2004. ๐ŸŒทMay you Rest In Peace. ๐ŸŒท
We remember you as a remarkable member, friend, and adventurer whose enthusiasm for life touched so many people.

Elise, embraced every opportunity with curiosity and determination.

๐ŸŽฅWhether travelling to new places, running her business, exploring the latest technology, capturing beautiful photographs, or supporting fellow Toastmasters, she brought energy, knowledge, and generosity to everything she did.

๐ŸŽฅHer love of videography helped preserve countless club memories, while her stunning photographs, especially of the moon reflected the wonder and appreciation she found in the world around her.

โค๏ธA passionate advocate for disability awareness and inclusion, she generously shared her experiences of vision impairment and helped others gain a deeper understanding of accessibility and resilience. She never hesitated to express her views, stand up for what she believed in, and contribute to meaningful conversations.

๐ŸŽคThrough her involvement in multiple Toastmasters clubs, her friendships, her service, and her adventurous spirit, she leaves behind a legacy of courage, curiosity, and connection. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

We will all miss you Elise...๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒทR.I.P.

1st day of Winter, a wild and wooly day!

๐Ÿ’— Winter Begins with Warmth๐Ÿ’—
As winter arrives in Melbourne, weโ€™re reminded of the importance of warmth not just in temperature, but in community, compassion, and care.
June also marks Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognise strength, resilience, and the journeys of so many individuals and families.
W often talk about courage in speaking but courage also exists in lifeโ€™s most personal moments.
Today, we acknowledge both:
โ„๏ธ the arrival of winter
๐Ÿ’— and the importance of awareness, support, and hope
Let this month be a reminder that small acts of courage and kindness matter.

Congratulations Nola Sharp you are an extraordinary woman, love your heart for others ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽŠ
