Seville War Memorial

Seville War Memorial The Seville Township Group is building a war memorial in Seville. Lighting, pathways and landscaping is needed to complete the project. We need your support!

We have designed, fundraised and installed the four amazing panels but there is still more to do. The Seville Township Group is proud to be building a War Memorial in Seville. The memorial will be located between the Water Play Park and the Warburton Highway. The memorial will honour all the Seville residents killed in service with an additional focus on Captain George Ingram - the Yarra Valley’s

only recipient of the Victoria Cross, the Commonwealth’s highest award for valor on the battlefield. We are currently fundraising to achieve this vision - something for generations to come.

Well done to the Seville War Memorial Committee and the Seville Township Group who, after 12 long years, can claim to have achieved everything they set out to do with the magnificent and iconic Seville War Memorial, especially now that Grant Tucker has installed the CCTV cameras.
It is a wonderful community asset we can be proud of and one that generations to come will appreciate.

Two CCTV cameras were finally installed at the Seville War Memorial on 10 May, offering protection for the celebrated structure and the souls of the soldiers whose names are engraved on it. The installation bookends 12 long years of the war memorial project and its left Seville War Memorial Committe...

It's taken 18 months to get this up and running and was the last project to finish off the Seville War Memorial. We finally had council approval to have CCTV up and locally recorded to an on site secure recorder. Thanks to Advance Security for donating the system. The footage can only be accessed by Vic pol when requested.

The Seville War Memorial Committee welcomes the election promise announcement today by the Opposition Leader, Jess Wilson, on harsher penalties for those who damage war memorials.
This goes a long way to achieving a proper deterrent of mindless vandals attacking our community's sacred places and we applaud this major step in the right direction. In NSW they have had these rules in for a number of years, but we are pleased to say today's announcement looks at even harsher penalties than NSW.
We thank our local State representative, Bridget Vallence MP, the Member for Evelyn, who has been a tireless campaigner on our behalf on this issue.
