Find us at the Riverina Careers Expo tomorrow in Leeton!

A fantastic event to speak with students, industry and educators from across the region.

Grow Our Own has utilised this event across the years to survey students, obtaining trends and patterns on their plans post high school. Staying in region or exiting for other opportunities? Uni or into the trades? We've enjoyed capturing this data and speaking with our local students about their various pathways into the workforce.

That's a wrap on the 2026 Ready Set Uni Program!

Congratulations to on another successful year, with 60 Year 12 students across Griffith and Leeton sites completing the Ready Set Uni program.

This year's program kicked off with a Parents & Carers Night, giving families the tools and confidence to support their young people through some of the biggest decisions of their lives. From course selection and early entry to scholarships and university pathways, we know that when families feel informed, students feel unstoppable.

Over 5 weeks, students built real knowledge and real confidence, and they don't leave empty-handed. Every participant walks away with access to an online program they can return to again and again as they navigate their path to higher education. Whether they're finalising their UAC application or weighing up scholarship options later in the year, that resource is always there for them.

From walking in feeling unsure, to walking out with real confidence and a clear path forward, the transformation speaks for itself.

Some highlights we love:
🟠 100% of students would recommend the program
🟠 100% found it very helpful for understanding the uni/TAFE application process
🟠 Satisfaction and support both rated 4.84 out of 5
🟠 Students who felt very confident jumped from just 4% before the program to 37% after

And behind these numbers? A cohort where 49% are first in family to engage with higher education, and 54% speak a language other than English at home. This is what happens when young regional people get access to the right information, the right support, and a community that believes in them.

We are so proud to continue to partner with on this program, working alongside GOO member in delivering this program to our local students. See you again in 2027!

Recently, Flavourtech team members Ben and Rebecca volunteered at the Riverina FIRST Australia Lego League Challenge hosted by Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Griffith. Primary and high school students from across the region had the opportunity to partake in a series of nautical challenges, building Lego and coding under pressure! This annual event is a key date in the Grow Our Own - Riverina (GOO) regional schools’ calendars, designed to celebrate STEM within the Riverina.

Flavourtech also attended the GOO end-of-year stakeholder meeting last Friday, which provided an opportunity for industry leaders and education providers within the committee to reconnect and debrief on workforce and career activities in 2025.

2026 is going to be an even bigger year, and we can't wait to be involved in the upcoming GOO career initiatives for years 9-12! For more information on Grow Our Own, click here: https://www.growourown.org.au/about
