💜Happy Wear It Purple Day!💜
Today we show 🏳️🌈rainbow young people that they are celebrated and respected, and have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.
This year’s theme is "Colours of Courage", in celebration of the many different forms of courage shown by LGBTQIA+ young people, allies and communities every day.
Courage can look like speaking up, standing out and creating change. It can also take quieter forms of bravery, like living authentically, coming out, asking for support, standing beside someone, or choosing pride and hope in spaces where being yourself does not always feel easy.
As we are closed Friday's and can't celebrate on the day, we celebrated early with purple pancakes and rainbow ice cream in Hang Out Group and designing inclusive posters for our group room in Rainbow Alliance. Next week Mount Compass Hang Out will celebrate with purple themed home science experiments and badge making. Our staff have also been sporting purple through out the week.
