𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 📚

Rotary Victor Harbor originally created a scholarship to honour Dr. Fred Heddle, OAM, in recognition of his exceptional service to Rotary and the community. We have renamed this as the Rotary Victor Harbor Youth Pathways Grant.

This grant is not offered on academic merit alone. Rather, it is to provide financial assistance to students who would find it difficult to complete secondary schooling or commence and complete tertiary education due to financial constraints.

Individual grants may be awarded for up to $1,500 per semester and to a maximum of $10,000 for a degree course, or as recommended by the Selection Committee and approved by the Board of Directors of RVH ✨

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒊𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕

𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
The aim of the grant is to assist tertiary students experiencing financial constraints and who are therefore unable to commence or continue education at a tertiary institution.

𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
The grant is also available to assist students in years 10 – 12 who may be under pressure to leave school without attaining their SACE due to financial constraints, but who have the desire and commitment to continue their education.

We'll be checking on our plantings and clearing invasive weeds along the riverbank — all part of getting the area ready for winter planting.
No need to bring anything; all tools are provided. Just show up, roll up your sleeves, and help make a difference.

𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐞 🌍

It’s always wonderful to see the incredible work other Rotary organisations are doing internationally.

Approximately 70,000 people in Haiti will have improved access to safe water and sanitation by 2030, with a goal of reducing waterborne disease by 25% 💧

Access to clean water in Haiti isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about governance, finance, and community trust.

Collaboration for Sustainable Water and Sanitation Systems in Haiti addresses all three.

Rotary is scaling a proven model, which has already demonstrated success by working with 11 water service providers to maintain infrastructure and sustain paid access to clean water and sanitation.

The scaled-up program will serve communities in Cavaillon, Ferrier, and Pignon by training local operators and community leaders, building community demand for fee-based water services, and strengthening accountability through a revenue-sharing model with national regulatory bodies.

This approach doesn’t just deliver water. It builds the local capacity to sustain it.

Led by Rotary clubs in Haiti and the Caribbean, in partnership with HANWASH - Haiti National Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Initiative, Haiti Outreach, DINEPA, local nonprofits, and community leaders, this is Rotary’s sixth Programs of Scale award, given annually to evidence-based programs with proven capacity to scale.

On this day 18 years ago, we said sorry as a nation for the pain, suffering and hurt experienced by the Stolen Generations. We honour their strength and resilience, and acknowledge the ongoing effect this has had on their families and community.

National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June 2026) begins tomorrow. The 2026 theme, ‘All In’, calls on everyone to actively support reconciliation every day - encouraging all of us to step away from the sidelines and take meaningful action.

Rotarians Helen Parsons and Theresa Collins joined fellow Rotarian and President of The Zonta Club of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Julie Irwin, Saturday at the Zonta Birthing Kit Assembly Day in Victor Harbor 🙌🏼

The event celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Kit Foundation Australia, which began in Mount Barker, highlighting two decades of improving safe birthing outcomes for women and babies around the world 🌎

The result of service clubs collaborating is very powerful ✨
