If you follow us, you will already know the great things we do locally such as the Supported Accommodation Project, and the cushions which we donate to people with breast cancer.

We really appreciate all the support we get from our community, and we couldn't do it without you. And now we have a great way for you to support us, while also having a chance to win great prizes yourself. That's a win/win situation!

The People First Community Lottery is now open for ticket sales. The 41 prizes are worth over $300,000 and include cars, cruises, solar panel packages, electronics and a number of different retail vouchers.

Ticket sales opened on 2 July and close 8 October 2026. The cost is only $2 per ticket, with the entire amount going to fund our projects.

The tickets are a great gift for that hard-to-buy-for person too, with much better odds than the major games of chance. Remember that Father's Day is only a few weeks away! 😉

𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 🏞️

𝐴𝑛 𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑅𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑉𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑏𝑜𝑟

Friends of the Inman River is a passionate community initiative established in June 2023 under the Rotary Victor Harbor umbrella. Our mission is to protect, restore, and rejuvenate the natural environment surrounding the Inman River, ensuring a healthier ecosystem for future generations and the wildlife that call it home 🏡

The Inman River was once cared for by the South Coast Environment Centre. When the centre closed due to funding challenges, an important gap was left in the ongoing management of this significant local habitat. Friends of the Inman River was formed to continue this vital work, bringing together dedicated volunteers who share a commitment to preserving the natural beauty of our region.

Twice each month, our volunteers work hands-on in areas including Bruce Reserve and Inman Reserve near Almond Avenue, removing invasive weeds such as olives, buckthorn, boxthorn, watsonia, African daisy, and fennel. Through these ongoing efforts, we have successfully cleared large sections of invasive vegetation and planted hundreds of endemic trees and understory shrubs to help restore the river’s natural ecosystem 🌳

These revegetation projects play an important role in supporting local biodiversity, including providing habitat for the endangered black-chinned honeyeater and other native wildlife that rely on healthy river environments to survive and thrive.
