Today our volunteers collected & processed an amazing donation of containers. A whopping 1795 containers have found their way to recycling and Geraldton Dog Rescue is so grateful for the refund being credited directly to our bank account.

If you’d like to donate your containers to us, then here’s an easy way you can do so:

Recycling has never been easier!

♻️ Collect your containers.
♻️ Bag or box them.
♻️ Label clearly with our scheme ID: C10338274
♻️ Deliver them to the Wonthella depot at 8 Bradford St or the “Drop & Go” pods at Rigters IGA Durlacher, 440 Roadhouse (Caltex Glenfield) or Caltex Tarcoola Beach (156 Brand Hwy).
♻️ Feel good your refund will be deposited into our bank account!

Scout is a gorgeous 8-month-old female, medium-large mixed breed, weighing around 20kg, looking for an active and loving forever home. ❤️

She loves to play and would do well with an older dog for company & to learn more life skills from.

🐾 Knows some commands.
⚡ Energetic and ready for an active lifestyle

100% Red Dirt Dogs! We couldn’t agree more. Great advice in your post.

You might or might not be surprised, how many calls we get about incidents involving children & dogs. Dog body language can be very subtle & can also mean different things.

So, no matter how good your dog is, please supervise at all times. 🐶

Supervision prevents accidents

Children and dogs should never be left together without active adult supervision.

Even the gentlest dog can become frightened or startled, and young children are still learning how to interact safely.

Active supervision means:
👀 Watching the interaction
🙋 Being close enough to step in
🐶 Helping both child and dog have positive experiences

Remember: supervision protects both children and dogs.

Every dog deserves a place where they can rest without being disturbed.

Whether it's a crate, a bed, or a quiet room, this should be your dog's safe retreat.

Teach children that when a dog chooses to rest in their safe space:
🚫 No cuddling
🚫 No following
🚫 No disturbing

Respecting a dog's need for space helps them feel safe and can reduce stress.

A dog that knows they can walk away is less likely to feel the need to defend themselves.
