🌟 We’re looking for someone to join our Playgroup team! 🌟
CALM is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic volunteer to support our weekly playgroup at Bonnells Bay Youth & Community Centre on Wednesday mornings during school term.

This role involves helping with set-up and pack-down, and supporting fun, engaging playgroup activities for children and families.

✅ Fully supported by CALM staff
✅ Great opportunity to connect with your community
✅ Ideal for someone retired or looking for a way to give back to community, or anyone studying/looking to gain experience in early childhood or community services.

A Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.

Reclaim the Game
At CALM, we’re proud to partner with GambleAware NSW, with funding from the Office of Responsible Gambling, to deliver the Game Smart program in schools.

We know gambling isn’t just something you see at the TAB or during sport, it’s increasingly part of online games, apps and digital spaces that young people engage with every day.
That’s why early education matters.

Through Game Smart, we support young people to:
✔ Understand how gambling works
✔ Recognise the risks and influences around them
✔ Build skills to make informed, healthy choices

GambleAware NSW offers a range of initiatives, education and support services to help people affected by gambling, and to reduce the growing influence of gambling in everyday life.
By starting these conversations early, we can help young people think critically, stay in control, and reclaim the game.

Jordy is a valued member of our Child & Family Team, supporting caregivers of children and young people aged 0–18 years living between Teralba and Wyee.

Jordy and our Child & Family Team work alongside families during times of change or challenge, helping to build skills, confidence and stability. They take the time to listen and provide tailored support that aligns with each family’s unique needs.

The CALM team had a fantastic time hosting members of the NSW Council of Social Service - NCOSS team at Bonnells Bay Youth & Community Centre recently. It was a great opportunity to share all things Southlakes, from our journey with the community through asset‑based mapping, to opening the centre, and launching the Southlakes Together website.

NCOSS — we loved sharing the journey with you! We loved talking about how this work continues to grow alongside our community. Thank you for the visit and thank you for all of your work amplifying the experiences of the sector.

Thank you to Bindi and the team at Lake Macquarie City Council for organising this years Reconciliation Walk.

Was fabulous to see so many school students out in support and it was a great opportunity for us to reflect on what it means to be All In for Reconciliation.
