OVER THE EDGE AT GLENROCK!
If you thought our Carey Bay Toronto Group Camp was all about camping… think again!

One of the BIG highlights of Glenrock 2026 was ABSEILING!

Standing at the top of the cliff, looking down, it suddenly feels very different! But one by one, our adventurers clipped in, took a deep breath, trusted their gear, and stepped backwards over the edge.

And then… DOWN THEY WENT!

There were nerves, excitement, plenty of encouragement from the team and some seriously proud faces at the bottom.

For some, it was their first time abseiling. For others, it was another opportunity to push themselves further. But everyone who took on the challenge showed courage, determination and a willingness to give it a go. Before we left abseiling we invested one of our new Cubs and he abseiled down as a brand new Scout!

This is what group adventures are all about — challenging yourself, supporting each other, trying something new and making memories that last long after camp is over.

A massive BRAVO to everyone who took the leap and a huge thank you to the Hunter & Coastal Region Activities Team for running abseiling for us! We can’t wait for more adventures with your team.

CAREY BAY TORONTO GROUP CAMP — GLENROCK 2026!
What a CAMP!

Our Carey Bay Toronto group headed out to Glenrock for an action-packed camp filled with adventure, teamwork, new challenges and plenty of memories!

From the moment we arrived, there was something happening.

Setting up camp
Building shelters
Getting caught in the rain
Cooking over the fire
Bushwalking and exploring
Cooking up some seriously tasty camp meals
Plenty of laughs, teamwork and good times
And, of course… ABSEILING!

Camp isn't just about sleeping under the stars — it's about getting outdoors, learning new skills, challenging yourself and having adventures together.

There were wet clothes, muddy boots, tired legs, nervous moments, big laughs and some very proud faces along the way. And that's exactly what makes a great camp!

A huge shout-out to everyone who got involved, gave things a go, encouraged each other and helped make Glenrock 2026 such a memorable adventure.

These are the experiences that create confidence, friendships and stories we'll be talking about for a long time to come!

⏱️ Racing Against Time at State Rally! 🏕️
What a weekend for our Scouts at State Rally! From Friday night to Sunday afternoon, our Time Lords Patrol took on an action-packed weekend filled with abseiling, flying fox, archery and plenty more.

🔥 Campfire Cooking Night! 🔥

Last night our Scouts put their outdoor cooking skills to the test, preparing a delicious three-course meal entirely over the campfire.

🥔 Entrée: Campfire potatoes with sour cream and chives
🥘 Main: Jaffles cooked over the fire
🍎🍌 Dessert: Baked apples with Mars Bars, baked bananas with marshmallows, all enjoyed with a mug of hot chocolate.

From managing the fire to preparing, cooking and serving the meal, our Scouts showed fantastic teamwork, resilience and confidence.

Nights like these are what Scouting is all about—learning practical skills, trying new things and creating memories around the campfire.

Well done to everyone who got involved! 🔥👏
