The team at Malang had an awesome time the other week running a workshop for some of the teachers at the Waratah Project.

The day started with Saretta sharing some of her story, cultural background, and where some of her painting techniques originated from. She then demonstrated different ways of blending oil pastels and etching, focusing mainly on colours and its meaning within country and place, and also how to implement the use of traditional symbols. Saretta then help the class paint their own stories.

The participants gathered together to share the stories behind their artwork. It was such an amazing day.

WESNET Event Highlight

This wasn’t just event styling - it was a fully integrated cultural experience.

Through Malang Indigenous Corporation , alongside Saretta Art & Design , we developed a cohesive visual identity that was carried across the entire WESNET conference.

This included:
• Custom-designed scarves for delegates and volunteers
• Cultural design integrated throughout the event space
• Live artwork engaging attendees in real time

The result was a unified, meaningful experience where attendees didn’t just participate, they became part of the story.
