Toongabbie & District Riders Club Inc. A Nonprofit, family friendly trail riding club based in Toongabbie. Victoria The club has grown from a small group into a membership of up to 70 members.

The club is now incorporated and affiliated with ATHRA – Australian Trail Horse Riders Association and click here for more information, activities and member fees. The club was interested in having a fun day with novelties such as;
bending race, flag and barrel, sack race, tyre race and the great spectator event, the rescue race and rope race. The members were able to rent 10 acres joining the R

ecreation Reserve in Heywood Street, where a shed and an activities area were built. Also, a Chuck Wagon was bought to house the bbq and lunch making facilities. The club grounds now house a bigger shed with facilities such as- brick toilets, bbq area, and fenced areas for parking and riding. Just recently, the Pony Club have also joined the grounds and a new entry and front fence was erected with thanks from a grant made available through the Latrobe City. Some of the horse activities that utilize the grounds today are – Pony Club, Adult Riders Club, locally organized Endurance Rides, annual novelty day, Thomson Valley Bush Riders Annual SIDS & Kids Ride, dressage events and gymkhanas. Club rides are on the first Sunday of the month except January and inclube trail rides to surrounding areas of the high country, beaches and lake areas.

TRARALGON SOUTH RIDE NOTICE SUNDAY 6th SEPTEMBER
Traralgon Creek Rd area, pin drop of start point is given after club receives ride nomination. Signs will be out.
Come and join us for a spring ride, hopefully we'll have a nice day. Anthony is leading so they'll definitely be some fun and laughter on this ride. Easy parking.

Horseless Muster 9:15
Ride out 9:30 sharp
Duration approx. 12.5kms, approx. 2.5hours.
Pace walk, hilly and rocky terrain, single tracks. Recommend horses have some fitness. Rated medium.
Suitable for shod or booted horses.
Motorbikes, 4WDs, Kangaroos may be encountered.
Bring Halter, lead, rope, water.
Lunch - BYO back at floats.

A big, “Thank you “ to Trish O’Brian for organising a magic ride in the winter sun in the Stockdale area. We rode and jigged 🤣16 kms on sandy trails amongst pine plantations and native bush. We soaked up the sun on an excellent morning in the saddle and finished off with laughter around the campfire for lunch. Thanks for the hospitality, very much appreciated!

STOCKDALE Ride Notice Sunday 2nd AUGUST
Lead Rider: Trish O’Brian
Where: Stockdale. Pin drop of start point is given after club receives ride nomination.
Arrival time: 8.30am
Horseless Muster: 9.15am horses to be saddled and ready to ride after muster.
Ride out: 9.30am sharp
Duration: Approx 3 hours, approx. 10kms
Pace & Terrain: Walk only, rated easy/medium, dirt roads, single file tracks. Shoes or boots recommended.
Bring: Halter, lead rope, water bottle, snacks and lunch to share back at the floats.
Water for horses.
Nominate: Via Ride Nomination Form to [email protected] by 5pm Friday 31st July 2026. If not a member of TDRC send copy of ATHRA insurance (day pass) with nomination form.

Despite the crisp winter weather we enjoyed a wonderful July ride through the beautiful countryside, making the most of the fresh air and GREAT company. After our morning ride we returned to a warm campfire and delicious BBQ lunch and impressive selection of homemade goodies. Thanks to everyone who came along and helped make it such a great day !
