HELP SHAPE THE CHAMBER'S FUTURE!
As the Chamber approaches its 100-year anniversary, we are seeking a proactive and committed team to help lead the organisation into this important milestone and beyond.
Joining the Chamber committee is an opportunity to contribute directly to the future of Tenterfield’s business community. Committee members help guide local business advocacy, support tourism initiatives, create networking opportunities and ensure the voice of local businesses is represented across the region.
The Chamber plays an important role in maintaining services and opportunities that benefit the entire community. Without the Chamber:
The Tenterfield Visitor Information Centre would not exist in its current community-supported form.
Local businesses would lose an important avenue for support and advocacy.
There would be reduced representation and engagement with Business NSW, the Destination Network Country and Outback, local government and the State Government.
Business networking drinks and professional development workshops would no longer be coordinated through the Chamber.
Local businesses would have fewer opportunities to connect, share information and work collaboratively on regional priorities.
Local businesses woud not have the platform to be championed for their efforts and innovations.
Encouraging local spending would not exsist or be supported in its current form.
Tourism promotion and visitor services would not be taken as a priority.
The Chamber is more than a membership organisation. It is a collective voice for local businesses and an important contributor to Tenterfield’s tourism, economic development and community identity.
Members are advised that the Tenterfield Chamber of Tourism, Industry and Business Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, 26 October 2026.
Further details regarding the meeting time, agenda and nomination process will be circulated to members ahead of the AGM.
Why Join the Committee?
Committee participation provides an opportunity to:
Represent the interests and concerns of local businesses.
Help shape the Chamber’s priorities and future direction.
Support initiatives that attract visitors and strengthen the local economy.
Build relationships with business owners, community groups and government representatives.
Contribute ideas, skills and experience to practical projects.
Help plan activities leading into the Chamber’s centenary celebrations.
Play an active role in supporting the next generation of Tenterfield businesses.
You do not need to have previous committee experience. The Chamber welcomes members who are enthusiastic, collaborative and willing to contribute their time, ideas and/or professional skills.
As we prepare to celebrate 100 years of the Tenterfield Chamber, now is an important time to become involved and help shape the organisation’s next chapter.
Members interested in joining the committee or learning more about the AGM are encouraged to contact the Chamber at [email protected] or call 0433 237 477.
