Too many men are carrying battles no one can see.
-
Loneliness can lead to isolation, and isolation can make it harder to reach out for support when it’s needed most.
-
This Men’s Mental Health Month, check in on your mates. A simple conversation can remind someone they are seen, valued, and not alone.
-
Because no one should have to carry life’s challenges by themselves.

We spent some time this week checking in with our mate in Chevallum, making sure he has what he needs as he navigates another winter while living between a car and a tent.

We also had a conversation with our partners at Gateway Care, exploring how we can continue working together to better serve the Sunshine Coast and create stronger pathways of support for those who need it most.

Beyond our usual locations, we spent time connecting with several of our friends via phone and text message. While these conversations may happen behind the scenes, they are often just as important. Sometimes support looks like practical assistance, and other times it looks like simply checking in, listening, and reminding someone that they are not alone.

When we arrived at Nambour Caravan Park, several of our friends were already waiting for us. It’s always a privilege to provide practical support through food, clothing, toiletries, and other essentials, but the conversations are just as critical. Real change often begins with connection, trust, and knowing someone genuinely cares.

One moment that stayed with us was a conversation with one of our friends who reflected on the past 12 months. She shared how much more confident, safe, and secure she now feels in herself and her living situation. Hearing stories like these reminds us why we do what we do.

A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful team at Fabric Cartel for truly knitting it forward!

Today, we were blessed to receive a beautiful collection of handmade beanies and scarves, lovingly crafted to help keep our friends experiencing homelessness and hardship warm this winter.

There’s something incredibly special about knowing each stitch has been made with kindness, care, and community spirit. Initiatives like this remind us that when people come together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who may be feeling unseen or forgotten.

These amazing handmade gifts will be shared throughout our community over the coming winter months, bringing not only warmth but also a reminder that someone cares.

Thank you, Fabric Cartel, for your generosity, compassion, and for helping us spread a little extra warmth this winter.

This week, we have witnessed the incredible generosity of the Sunshine Coast community through donations of winter clothing, blankets, and supplies to help fit out our bus and support those doing it tough.
-
We also saw the very real impact that domestic violence. We are walking alongside one of our friends as they take the next steps towards feeling safe again.
-
On a more positive note, we received a wonderful update from another friend who is close to completing their TAFE course. This is something they have worked incredibly hard to achieve. Upon completion we will be able to assist in next steps to secure employment.
-
Moments like these remind us that community is about more than providing support—it’s about walking alongside people through both the challenges and the victories.

Today, we checked in with our friends. As the weather begins to cool, we have started stocking our bus with winter gear. The people we currently support are living in tents, vehicles, or uninsulated demountable dwellings, placing them at high risk of illness and unsafe living conditions.
-
One of our new friends opened up to us about her child struggling with anxiety around attending school due to bullying. They are helping there child identify anxiety and doing everything they can to protect them from pain and hurt.
-
We celebrated the good news and sat with the bad news. This is the beauty of serving communities — being able to share in the ups and downs of others’ lives.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers within our communities.

To the mums, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, adopted mothers, foster mums, and the community mothers who step in, show up, and love children as their own — today we honour you.

Motherhood is not only defined by blood, but by sacrifice, nurture, guidance, protection, and unconditional love. It’s found in the women who stay up late worrying, who carry the weight of others quietly, who comfort through heartbreak, celebrate the smallest wins, and help shape children into the future generations of the Sunshine Coast.

Some mothers carried children.
Some raised children they didn’t give birth to.
Some became safe places for children who needed love most.

And all of it matters.

The impact of a caring woman can echo through generations. Through kindness, patience, strength, and compassion, you help build the future of our communities every single day.

Today, we celebrate you.
We thank you.
And we acknowledge the love that so often goes unseen but never unfelt.

Happy Mother’s Day ❤️

It was wonderful to reconnect with both new and familiar faces today.
-
One of our long-time friends openly shared their current journey through cancer — a powerful reminder of resilience.
-
We also had the privilege of speaking with another friend about her journey of learning to embrace vulnerability, take courageous steps toward opening up to others, and build meaningful friendships along the way.
-
Moments like these remind us how important connection, honesty, and community truly are. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply let others in.

Yesterday, we stepped outside our usual routine and made a one-off Friday visit to connect with our friends across the Sunshine Coast.

One of those friends has asked us to share their story—not for sympathy, but to empower others who may be walking a similar path. To remind people they’re not alone, and that reaching out isn’t weakness… it’s courage.

Because hardship doesn’t always look the same. And more often than not, courage is found in the quiet moments—when someone chooses to ask for help despite how hard it feels. We see that. We respect that. And we stand with it.

A new friend we met who is new to our community asked us for a fridge, I said we didn’t have one on the bus but we gave her a temporary fix of one of our esky’s and she can use until her situation shifts.

As the cost of living continues to rise, so too does the number of individuals and families quietly doing it tough across the Sunshine Coast. What we’re seeing isn’t isolated—it’s growing—and it’s real.

We’re back in full swing after a few weeks away, reconnecting with the community and continuing the work that matters most.
-
At the moment, we’re supporting someone who has been living in a tent on private property, working alongside them toward secure housing. After many years of moving between different locations along the coast, the impact of long-term homelessness is significant. We’re navigating not just the practical steps forward, but also the anxiety, hesitation, and uncertainty that come with planning what’s next.
-
We also checked in with one of our long-time community members, showing them that a moment of vulnerability her greatest fear — being judged or humiliated — didn’t happen.
-
It’s good to be back out in the community, walking alongside people and offering support where it’s needed most.
