Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person living with scleroderma?

University of Sydney researchers are studying access to care for people living in regional and remote areas, and whether Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience different complications or health outcomes.

We hope to speak with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with scleroderma and potentially form a reference group. This group would help ensure our research is appropriate, respectful and relevant to First Nations communities.

At this stage, we are seeking expressions of interest only. There is no commitment to participate in research or join a reference group.

If you are interested in hearing more, or would like to have a chat about this, please contact:

Your voice can help shape future access to treatment!

If you or someone you care for is living with pulmonary fibrosis or scleroderma-associated interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD), now is the time to share your experience!

The Australian Government is seeking patient and carer feedback as part of a consultation on a potential new treatment option. Your lived experience can help decision-makers better understand the challenges of living with these conditions and why timely access to treatment matters.

There are three ways to have your say:
- Share your story through Patient Input Buddy
- Submit your feedback directly to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC)
- Contribute to Scleroderma Australia's submission

Every story helps ensure the experiences of people living with pulmonary fibrosis, their families and carers are represented alongside the clinical evidence that informs important healthcare decisions.

đź“… Submissions close 16 September 2026.
