It's a thermostable Thursday with temps staying around the same place as we huddle under our cloud doona again!

Another stable temperature type day with 12° showing on all our thermometers this morning. Cloudy with a chance of sunshine but certain showers... We got 3-9mm expected to fall out of the sky today. It should clear this Arvo but we are still in for random annoying showers until next week.

If you don't have gumboots, get some. Remember they keep your feet dry AND leech-free. Win win! Keeping your head warm with a hat, is a great hack when you live in Springbrook along with scarves and gloves!

Enjoy this thermostable Thursday, rugged up, booted up and scarfed up!

*P&C meeting 8am at the school this s morning. Come along and get involved with this great group. Just turn up. Everyone welcome!

*Men's Shed opens at 9am for all that secret blokey stuff that they claim to do. We think it's a cuppa and biscuits but the only way to find out, is to go along!

*Social darts night at the Springbrook Cafe and Bar from 5pm tonight!

🛋️ Don't put large items at the Emporium please. If it doesn't fit on the shelf, it shouldn't be there!

🐕🐈 Make sure your pets are tick and flea dosed. Ticks are still around!

It's a bit of a wildcard Wednesday! A day that you can choose how you'll play it!

Maybe you'll relax at home in front of a screen? Maybe that walk and coffee is calling you? Maybe getting some craft on is what you need to do today. Play that wild card and see what the day brings!

We've got 12° at Canyon to go with the rain this morning. Purling Brook has 14° and just as much rain. From the small amount we were meant to get yesterday we ended up with 16 mm in the gauge overnight and 14° on the thermometer. It's not meant to rain much today but then again it wasn't meant to rain much yesterday either. Just get out your brolly and gum boots and get on with your day. It's going to be like this all week...

There's a few meetings in the next couple of days. Please don't let the rain stop you from attending the SMCA or P&C meeting today and tomorrow. If you let the rain stop you, you'll never do anything in Springbrook!

Play a wild card this this Wednesday and see where you end up. It could be a lot of fun!

Slow down, save a life, look out for wildlife. 🦘

Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they're not there. Wildlife move between dusk and dawn and can be difficult to spot.

Help keep them safe by slowing down when driving at night.

It's a stay in touch Tuesday with copies of Voices in everyones letterbox today!

Springbrook Voices, THE premier community newspaper, voted number one of all local tabloids has finished delivery of Springbrook Voices to all local letterboxes. Make sure you read and enjoyed as much as this local is!

It's chilly at 11° this morning across the mountain. Hope your kids bought their school jumpers home yesterday, they'll need them today. If you haven't dug out your beanies, scarves and gloves yet, now is a good time to dig them out, along with your brollys!

We've got 3mm in the gauge at Purling Brook and expecting between 3 and 6mm today. It's definitely brolly weather for the foreseeable future... Plan for rain for all your outdoor activities for the next seven days!

Rainy days are perfect for reading. We have four places to get books from if you've read and enjoyed Voices already on this stay in touch Tuesday!

*Men's Shed is open from 9am for local blokes looking for a way to get out of the house and stay out of the rain. Kettle boils around 10am. Drop in if you can!

*Skate Park Day for school kids 3pm to 4pm. Byo wheels, parents and a snack this Arvo, rain permitting!

*Shanghai Darts Club meet 7pm at the hall for serious darts games. Byo darts and come and enjoy some games with likeminded people!

*SES training, 7pm tonight, usually at the SES shed behind the hall. Contact Jan on 0427570812 for more info if you were planning on turning up tonight!

👥 SMCA meeting tomorrow night, 7.15pm at the hall. Come along and hear about local issues or raise some yourself!

🪑🛏️🚪📠 Please don't trash our Emporium with stuff that shouldn't be there. We will lose it if we abuse it. All that big stuff gets ruined in the rain, just chuck it in the bins and be done.

It's a bit of a misty moisty Monday morning here on the hill today.

With some cloud cover this morning it's reasonably warm for this time of the year. We've got 12°, pretty much across the mountain with a drizzly day ahead. We're looking at about 5mm in rainfall today and rain from 2 to 6 mm all across the week as well...

It's definitely a day to carry a brolly and to pop on the gumboots. If it's not actually raining it's soon will be. It's going to be that kind of week!

One of the best things about Springbrook is that despite the weather our groups just keep meeting and doing their thing. We've got something happening pretty much every day of the week up here. Join a club and get all the benefits that come with it, from improving your skill to meeting people!

Pull on your gumboots. Pop open your brolly. Get outside for some part of today and enjoy this misty moisty Monday morning.

*Active travel to school day! Bike, scoot or run to school today and remember to get your bag tag stamped!

*Remember to order Tuck Shop for Friday lunch today!

*Playgroup at the school 9am to 11am today. It's the perfect place to take your preschoolers for some fun and entertainment. Just turn up!

*Yoga, 6pm at the hall tonight. If it's a little bit chilly remember to pop in a jumper for their last few minutes meditation!

It's a Sunday for sighing *sigh*
Another damp weekend that can slow down your plans for the rest of the weekend If you don't have brolly's and gumboots!

While Springbrook does have a lot of inclement weather, as long as you have the right gear to wear, there is no reason for things not to go on as planned!

Another chilly morning despite the rain with between 8° and 10° at Canyon this morning. We've got 12° at Purling Brook and plenty of drizzle on its way this morning. It should only be a couple of mm today and anywhere between 4mm and 10mm over the next few days. If you were planning on planting winter vegetables today is the day!

🍯Pop down to Numinbah if you've got time. The markets are on at the Numinbah School of Arts Hall from 8am to 1pm today. It's a lovely day out and a great opportunity to get the kids outside and away from screens if you're looking for something to do this weekend!

🎾The Tennis Club meet on Sundays around 9am at the courts behind the hall. If you're keen on a game just turn up with your bat and ball!

🍎🍍 Get some local fruit veggies and other goodies at the Frog Pond or at the Echo Valley farm stalls. They are both stocked up for the weekend and if you need firewood, they both have some!

🚔 Don't forget that it's speed trap Sunday here on the mountain. We often see the police up here, so watch your speed!

Recycling and green waste will remain FREE! Landfill waste will be $5 a load. There's lots of information on the City of Gold Coast Councils website. Get on and have a look so you know what to expect when things change on Wednesday July 1st 2026!
