Mt Nimmel Hall is proud to be hosting musicians Mitch King and Sylvie Millard on 30th May.
MK (Mitch King), is a performing artist and a proud Yaegl & Widjabul Wia-bul man from the Bundjalung nation on the east coast of Australia. His main disciplines are music, theatre, and dance – he loves telling stories through sound, movement. Most of his work is related to living on country and what it’s like to live in the Northern Rivers – combining cultural and contemporary practices to push his own creative boundaries in order to make space for First Nations communities’ voices and artistry.
Sylvie Millard is a folk musician with heritage from England, Ireland and Scotland via Australia and Turtle Island. After a short career as a lawyer, Sylvie released her first two albums in January. The albums reflect Sylvie’s understanding of law, story, and relationality with Place as a coloniser in a culture that has not arrived in right relation with spirit and country yet. Sylvie is inspired by the work of local Kombumerri and Wakka Wakka Doctor and Adjunct Associate Professor Aunty Mary Graham
