No services operating

Brisbane River ferry services won't operate during the following times due to industrial action:

TODAY - Friday 28 August
No ferries from first to last service

Services will stop at their closest terminal just before each work stoppage and progressively resume after each stoppage is complete.

Changes can occur at short notice, so please keep up to date by checking our service updates page. Consider making alternative travel arrangements.

Buses and trams will continue to run as normal, with trains running on a reduced timetable.

Southern Moreton Bay Island (SMBI) and Coochiemudlo ferry services are not affected.

BCC UPDATE

Changed traffic conditions for Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge 2026

20 August 2026

Traffic changes will be in place in South Brisbane from 3am to 8am on Sunday 23 August 2026 for the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge 2026.

The following roads will be closed:

Melbourne Street, between Merivale Street and Grey Street
Grey Street, between Melbourne Street and Ernest Street
Glenelg Street, between Grey Street and Merivale Street
The following traffic changes will also be in place:

Grey Street will be closed in the south-eastbound direction between Peel Street and Melbourne Street
The intersection of Hope Street and Melbourne Street will be closed
The intersection of Grey Street and Ernest Street will be closed
Diversions will be in place and clearly signed.

Access to Russell Street will be permitted between 3am and 5am and again between 7am and 8am under the direction of traffic controllers.

Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to assist motorists, pedestrians and public transport users.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, use alternate routes where possible and avoid the area during the event.

Blind Cricket this Thursday at Blind Sport Fundamentals!

Together with Blind Sports Australia, we run Blind Sport Fundamentals every Thursday for people who are blind or have low vision.

This week we're playing Blind Cricket. It's fast, loud and a lot of fun, and no experience is needed. Our coaches will run you through the basics and you'll be in the game before you know it.

Across the program you'll also try Blind Football, Blind Cricket and Exercise Physiologist-led sessions.
