The Brisbane Rotary Art Show has returned to the C*D for its 44th year, showcasing exceptional talent while raising funds for community projects.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view almost 300 artworks across a range of mediums, recognised by some of Australia's leading arts professionals.

This year, works will be judged by an accomplished panel featuring 2025 Archibald Prize winner Julie Fragar, Museum of Brisbane Director of Curatorial and Collections Christine Clark, and award-winning Brisbane painter and sculptor Keith Burt.

Beyond celebrating artistic excellence, the Brisbane Rotary Art Show has raised more than $2.5 million for community causes over the past 44 years.

This year's $20,000 Best of Show Prize will be awarded to the winning artist, while proceeds from the exhibition will benefit Youngcare Australia, Coffee Brigade Brisbane, the Rotary Club of Brisbane High-Rise and the Rotary Club of Paddington.

I'm only one person - how can I change someone's life across the world?

Rotary Brisbane High-Rise has been a longtime supporter and fundraiser for the School of St Jude in Tanzania. One of their students, Sebastian Godwin Mollel, has held a special interest for several of our members.

Not only has Seb been able to successfully pass the exams to enter St Jude's and continue as a student, he has had to do so with a significant disability.

Seb lives with albinism which affects his eyesight. Over the years, Brisbane High-Rise has provided devices which have enabled him to be able to see what the teacher is writing at the front of the class as well as being able to read and write along with his fellow students.

We received wonderful news that Seb has been awarded a 100% fully funded scholarship to attend UWC Red Cross Nordic in Norway, where he will study the International Baccalaureate Diploma for two years.

The scholarship is valued at NOK 905,000 (approx. TZS 244 million / AUD 133,000) and covers the full program.

This opportunity came through the UWC Tanzania National Committee after a competitive national selection process. Several teachers worked with Sebastian throughout the application and testing, which happened in Dar es Salaam last month.

We wish to congratulate Seb and wish him the best for his big move to Norway to study for the next two years. We know he will continue to excel and make his family and School of St Jude proud of his achievements.

This is a life changing opportunity and is life changing and will enable Seb to move forward with several options for study and a career. Congratulations to all of the teachers and students at School of St Jude for contributing to Seb's past and future successes.

The Rotary Club of Brisbane High-Rise invites Rotarians, family and friends to attend our annual ANZAC Day Ceremony at the SS Maheno shipwreck. The SS Maheno was a hospital ship in Gallipoli and attended to, and transported several New Zealand and Australian casualties. It is now shipwrecked on K'Gari (Fraser Island).

DATE: Saturday, 25th April, 2026
TIME: 9.30am for a 10:00am start.
WHERE: SS Maheno, K'gari (near Eli Creek)

Everyone is welcome to attend - parking is available on the beach.
