🚒🚑🚓 Thank a First Responder Day 💛

Today we pause to say a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our incredible first responders across the Clarence Valley.

To our paramedics, firefighters, police, SES volunteers, RFS crews and every person who runs toward the hard moments so the rest of us don't have to. We see you, we appreciate you and we are so grateful for everything you do.

You show up in the middle of the night, on holidays, in the heat of summer and the chaos of disasters. You comfort, protect and save often at great personal cost. The Clarence Valley is safer, stronger and more connected because of you.

From all of us at New School of Arts Neighbourhood House in South Grafton thank you. From the bottom of our hearts. 💛

The GLC are looking for volunteers who want to give back, support young people, and help create positive experiences. Whether it's mentoring, activities, cultural sharing, or simply being a positive presence, they'd love to hear from you.

🤝 AIDER Program - assistance for Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents 🤝

What is AIDER? A one off FREE service for elderly and disabled residents of bush fire prone properties to reduce bush fire hazards.

Who is eligible? Aged residents and residents with disabling conditions who have limited domestic support from family, relatives, friends or other services.

AIDER services may include:
✅ Thinning vegetation
✅ Removing leaves, sticks and fallen branches
✅ Mowing or slashing long grass
✅ Cleaning gutters

Tailgates for Mates will be at Tyringham, a BBQ on the side of the road where blokes can get together, have a feed, and have a real conversation about how they're going. Come along and have a chat, get support if needed and enjoy good food and pretty good company. 🧡

A huge thank you to all the Soup-A-Stars and their families at Grafton Public School 🧡💜💙
During Neighbourhood Centre Week we undertook a soup drive and the leadership students at Grafton Public School took incredible initiative to encourage their whole school community to donate soups and noodles for those in need. And the result?

🥫 330 cans and packets donated
🍲 That's 451 serves of warm food for people in need

Added to what we already had, we now have a total of 519 cans and packets, that's an incredible 846 serves of soup and noodles for our community. 🧡

These will be available in our community hub for anyone who needs them, no questions asked, just come in, grab what you need, and stay for a chat and a cuppa if you'd like. ☕

To the leadership students at Grafton Public School and every student and family that donated we cannot thank you enough. You are proof that kindness starts young and is spread throughout our whole community. 💛

Winter is coming and we're sharing the warmth! 🥶

Have you spotted our fence?
We've hung up donated warm clothes, jumpers, jackets, pants and blankets. These will be hung on our fence while we're open for anyone who needs them. No questions asked. Just take what you need. 🧡🧡

If you want to donate an item, drop into our hub Monday, Tuesday or Friday between 10am and 1pm and Thursday 9:30am - 12pm. If you need something warm this winter, please help yourself. It's that simple.
