We are an outdoor activities club that provides, bushwalks, kayaking/canoeing, bike rides, car camps and some social outings. Clarence Valley Bushwalkers Inc. was founded in 1997 by a small Group of interested bushwalkers. Since then we have grown to a membership of some 40 members. During this time, walks have been conducted in a wide range of beautiful areas ranging from the New England, Washpoo
l and Gibraltar Range National Parks to the ocean; south to Trial Bay, north to Mt Barney, Mt Warning and the Border Ranges, and west as far as the Warrumbungles and Kwaimbal National Park. Our Group has also undertaken extended backpacking walks in Mount Kosciusko National Park, South West National Park (Tasmania) and Cradle Mountain (Tasmania), and many of the famous walking tracks in New Zealand. We have canoed and kayaked most of the local rivers, and held relaxing bicycle rides in and around the Clarence Valley. There are usually two scheduled club activities per month. These can include bushwalking of varying levels of difficulty, terrain and duration; canoeing trips and overnight car-camps; full-pack weekend walks and bicycle rides. The Group also undertakes interstate and overseas adventures. Activities that are dependent on suitable weather or tidal conditions can also be added to the program at short notice to take advantage of favourable conditions. We usually start each activity by meeting at 8:00 AM in the Car Park behind the Grafton Tourist Information Centre, South Grafton. We are a member of the Confederation of Bushwalking Clubs NSW. Feel free to visit their site by clicking the link to find out more about the Confederation. There is a lot of useful information and links there (including about insurance for members during club activities).
