We are breast cancer survivors of various ages from a diverse range of backgrounds, athletic abilities and interests.

Bribie Dragons provide a "face" for breast cancer statistics whilst spreading the message of breast cancer awareness through participation in the wonderful and strenuous sport of dragon boat racing. High on our list of priorities is having fun, trying new things, meeting interesting people and being involved in the challenging physical activity of dragonboating to promoting breast cancer awareness

Some of our wonderful Bribie Pink Dragons traded their paddling gear for frocks to attend the Zonta Club of Caboolture Fashion Parade 2026. Held at the Morayfield Community Hall, this year’s theme was all about "Petals & Pearls", and our ladies certainly understood the assignment.

A massive shoutout to our very own Julie and Sonia, who hit the runway and modelled like absolute pros.

The morning tea was simply delicious, filled with endless laughs, great company, and inspiring community spirit. To make a fantastic day even sweeter, the Bribie Pink Dragons cleaned up with the lucky door prizes and multi-draw raffles.

It was a truly wonderful morning supporting a fantastic cause. The Zonta Club of Caboolture does incredible work empowering women and girls—from assembling vital birthing kits to supporting local community projects. We are always proud to get behind them.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable day off the water.

From the waters of Tin Can Bay to the communities of Townsville... our famous sharkie pyjamas are on the move.

You might remember these absolute masterpieces from our fancy dress regatta. Well, they just swam a massive 1,100 km north for Book Week.

It turns out they were borrowed by the lovely Liza Bowen, who happens to be the daughter-in-law of our very own coach, Sue Bowen. Liza put the sharkies to great use in her vital role as an audiologist and speech pathologist.

She has been up north working with some incredible hearing-impaired children, proving that Bribie Pink Dragons style knows no bounds (and that these sharks make excellent Book Week buddies).

A huge shoutout to the team at and Say for the incredible, life-changing work you do with these kids. We are so glad our club's wardrobe could help bring some extra smiles to their Book Week celebrations.

What a spectacular morning on the water.

We had an absolute blast at training this morning with fantastic numbers and incredible energy. The Dragon's Den was buzzing as we launched two boats for the session - Kal Ma Kuta and the Little Spirit. Both crews dug deep and worked our way through some intense training drills 🤪.

Once the hard work was done and the boats were washed and tucked away, it was time for our usual end-of-the-month celebrations in the park.

This morning, we celebrated our wonderful August birthday babies, Gill, Marie, Pat, Sharon, and Sue. It was the perfect way to wrap up a great morning with cake, laughs, and awesome company.

A massive shoutout to everyone who showed up, gave it 100% on the water, and helped celebrate our club mates. A very special shoutout and thank you to our very talented baker, Ros, who supplied the birthday cake. The vanilla sponge cake with fresh cream and gold-dusted strawberries was a real treat after such a tough session.

Double celebrations call for double the fun!

We are sending the biggest, pinkest congratulations to our very own absolute legend, Pat. Pat recently made his 70th trip around the sun, and he’s been doing it in style.

But wait, the milestones don’t stop there. Pat and his wonderful wife, Julie, also recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Half a century of love, partnership, and navigating life’s waters together is an incredible, beautiful achievement. They marked the golden occasion surrounded by family and friends at a truly classy event.

Of course, the Pink Dragons couldn’t let a 70th birthday pass without our own signature spin. You know we love any excuse for a good dress-up, so we got together to celebrate Pat all over again. The dress code? Our famous shark pyjamas from the recent Tin Can Bay Regatta.

From classy suits to shark pyjamas. That is just how we roll!

Pat, thank you for bringing so much energy, dedication, and joy to our club. Happy 70th birthday, and congratulations to you and Julie on 50 years of marriage. Here is to many more paddles, laughs, and dress-up days together.

Our paddlers have officially touched down in France. They are getting ready to hit the water for an epic campaign at the IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, running from 24 to 30 August.

This incredible international event is held just once every four years, bringing together thousands of breast cancer survivor and supporter paddlers from all corners of the globe.

For this milestone festival, we are joining forces with the crew from Sunshine Coast Dragons (more commonly known as the Mavericks) to form an exciting composite team. Together, we are racing under the brilliant name: Coastal Breast Friends.

They’ve also taken a very special piece of home with them. The team will be taking our beautifully painted rocks, featuring Bluey in a dragon boat. How appropriate is that? A huge shoutout to one of our talented members for painting these for the trip.

We wish the entire crew the absolute best of luck on the water. We are so proud of you all and cannot wait to hear all of your stories when you return.

We have some incredibly exciting news to share with our Dragon Boat Club family. A massive shout out goes to Busy Fingers Fundraising Inc. for their incredible generosity. Thanks to a recent donation they provided to our club, we were able to fully fund the purchase of brand-new Aussie Pacific Olympus jackets.

These jackets are amazing quality and look incredibly fancy. They are absolutely perfect for keeping us warm, comfortable, and looking like a sharp, united team when we are off the water.

Special thanks to our hard-working committee. This wonderful upgrade wouldn't have been possible without the hard work behind the scenes. A huge, heartfelt thank you. Your dedication keeps our club moving forward.

Busy Fingers does so much for our local Bribie Island community. As a club, let’s get behind them and show our appreciation. We highly encourage all our members, family, and friends to visit their store. This week, our incredible crew supported a truly life-saving cause.

Alongside the wonderful team at Zonta International Australia, our members rolled up their sleeves to assemble clean birthing kits for Birthing Kits Australia. Together, we packed a massive 1,600 kits!

These simple kits are headed to Africa, where they will directly save the lives of mothers and newborns. In many developing communities, women are forced to give birth on the muddy floors of their huts. Without clean medical supplies, umbilical cords are often cut with dirty, unsterilised items, leaving both mother and baby highly vulnerable to deadly infections like tetanus.

Each kit we made contains basic, sterile items like a clean plastic sheet, soap, gloves, gauze, and a sterile blade. These turn a high-risk birth into a safe, hygienic delivery.

A huge thank you to everyone from the club who showed up, worked hard, and proved that our team spirit extends far beyond the water. We are so proud of our community!

What a spectacular Sunday on the water at Tin Can Bay. The Bribie Pink Dragons gave it our absolute all, and we couldn't be prouder of our amazing paddlers. The weather held out beautifully for a great day of racing.

Our wonderful Breast Cancer Survivor crew took out 2nd place! Your strength, teamwork, and spirit shone brightly on the water. We are all incredibly proud of this fantastic achievement.

Our Mixed 20 Team dug deep and worked incredibly hard out there. We pushed through each heat with great focus, and it was rewarding to see our times got faster throughout the day, however no podium finish.

The fancy dress component of the regatta was an absolute hoot. We found ourselves paddling alongside Vikings, Bumblebees, Rockers, Octopuses, and Pink Ladies. Of course, we hit the water as the "B***y Sharks," complete with a full dance performance to the Baby Shark song.

We are extremely grateful for the expertise of our incredibly experienced Sweep, Judy, who navigated us safely through those tough conditions. A huge shoutout and thank you also goes to our fantastic drummers, Marie and Joyce. We also want to thank our hard-working committee for organizing everything so smoothly behind the scenes. A very big shoutout goes to Leonie Dyer for organising everything for us.

Our crew is heading off to Tin Can Bay tomorrow morning, getting ready to hit the water for the Cooloola Dragon Boat Regatta this Sunday.

The regatta is fancy dress, so we are ditching our usual uniform for something a little more fun. Inspired by our journey as breast cancer survivors and supporters, we are turning Baby Shark into "B***y Shark". Brace yourselves—we cannot wait to post the video evidence of our spectacular new look and dance moves very soon.

We have been training hard, and we are ready to leave it all out on the water. Win or lose, we are looking forward to catching up with the paddling community, paddling our hearts out, and having an absolute blast together.
