So some of our members missed each other so much that they decided to meet up for a lunch prior to our new year opening on 13 January. Attending was from L to R was Brad, Jeff, Greg, Rick, Denis, Dan, John W, Artie, and Poppy. Unfortunately the euphoria of the day was a little too much for one of our number.
Looking forward to a great new year at the Shed.

It works!!!!!
The new mud table at the kindy is now complete and in working order. A great effort on behalf of our Mens Shed to provide a usable upgrade for the kids. The project was led by Robt Pender with the added help from Eric Banham, Jeff Harth and Derek Patey and others. The project was funded very greatfully by our friends at Busy Fingers. Well done guys.

A big shout out to all those from Bribie Island yesterday for your support at our community fund raising sausage sizzle held at Bribie Garden Centre. A great time was had by all.
Also, we from the Shed, wish to acknowledge Busy Fingers, Bribie Garden Centre and Leading Electrical Appliances for their contributions in assisting us to run a successful Shed.
Additionally, we also wish to thank our political representatives, Terry Young (Federal), Ariana Doolan (State) and Brooke Savige (Local Council) for their support. We are thankful for the assistance they have offered to us this year.
But most of all we thank the residents of Bribie Island and surrounds for their continued patronage through donations and work.
From all of us at the Community Mens Shed Bribie Island we would like to wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and a safe, prosperous New Year.

Progress on our project for C&K Bribie Island Community Kindergarten is fast taking shape We were engaged by the kindergarten to produce a functional mud table complete with a mechanical pump sitting on a paved base. Project leader, Rob Pender, tells me all is on track for installation over the Christmas period well in time for the commencement of the next school year. Big shout out to Busy Fingers for funding the project. More pics as they come to hand. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

There’s always something new happening at the Bribie Island Men’s Shed!
Today we kicked off our very first Ukulele-Making Project, and it was a fantastic mix of learning, teamwork, and good conversation.
Five of us got together to start building the moulds that will shape future ukuleles for any members who’d like to give it a go. Along the way we’re picking up new skills — like cutting 19 mm Jarrah down to 3 mm sheets — and discovering there’s a real art to the process.
A huge thanks to Bill Plant, who’s generously sharing his time and expertise. Bill is a highly respected ukulele builder and author, recognised both in Australia and the U.S.
These photos capture both the technical side of the project and the social side that makes the Shed such a special place — plenty of laughs, learning, and mateship.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes on at the Men’s Shed, here’s a little glimpse — it’s not just about tools and timber, it’s about community.
Come down, have a cuppa, and get involved — you never know what new skills (or tunes!) you might pick up. 🎶
There may be ukulele group and lessons in our future!
