🌿 Healthy Cities in Full Bloom 🌿

The impact of the 2025 Bupa Healthy Cities Landcare Grants is starting to take shape across communities, from hands-on community events to large-scale planting efforts, these projects are bringing people together to restore green local spaces:

βœ… 29 community events delivered
🌱 14,985 native trees, shrubs and groundcovers planted
πŸ™Œ 850 people involved

"National Reconciliation Week is always an important time to reflect on where we are as a country, but also where we still need to go.

This year’s theme, β€˜All In’ hits home deeply with me because reconciliation cannot sit with just one group of people. It takes all of us. It takes honesty, listening, respect and a willingness to keep showing up, even when the conversations get tough.

Through my work with the First Nations Landcare Working Group, I see the value of creating spaces where First Nations voices, knowledge and leadership are genuinely respected and embedded into the way we care for Country. There is so much strength in working together, learning from one another and building relationships based on trust and shared responsibility.

For me, reconciliation is about action as much as words. It’s about making sure future generations inherit strong Culture, healthy Country and Communities that walk together with respect.

This National Reconciliation Week, I encourage people to take the time to listen, learn and think about what being β€˜all in’ means for them and their Communities."

Natalie Sommerville, Chair First Nations Landcare Working Group
